WWE Night of Champions 2011 Results: Conspiracy Angle Hurting Miz and R-Truth
When Miz and R-Truth started working together to prove there is a conspiracy in WWE, it seemed like it had potential to be a good angle, and get those two back in the main event mix. But at Night of Champions, the conspiracy angle fell flat, and there is no way for them to salvage it in the future.
It started with Miz and Truth rapping on their way to the ring at Night of Champions. Truth has been using different lyrics for his song in recent weeks, but the act does not have the feel of a serious main event act.

When they sing—yes, Miz was singing along with Truth—to the audience, and tell them they suck, it is more nauseating than anything else. If you want to be taken seriously, don’t sing a lame song on your way to the ring.
The problems continued at the end of their tag team title match with Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne, aka Air Boom. Miz hit Bourne with the Skull Crushing Finale, but the referee, for reasons that were never explained, decided that he did not want to count the pin.
Then in the main event, Miz and Truth ran out and attacked both Triple H and CM Punk. But they did not favor one over the other, so what was the point in having them come out in the first place?
It would have made sense if they had just attacked Triple H, because they believe that he is part of the conspiracy to keep them down. But CM Punk has no power, so why are they attacking him?
WWE had a good idea with Miz and R-Truth, having them act as paranoid workers who were being overlooked in favor of other workers. But the execution of the angle has been less than stellar, and there is no indication that things will get better.
On Raw last night, Triple H fired Miz and R-Truth after their match with CM Punk and John Cena. Why would he do that after he accepted their apology and fined them $250,000?
Miz was in the main event at WrestleMania against John Cena. Now, he is a dork who is being used primarily for comedy.
Truth was in the main event at Capitol Punishment against John Cena. Now, he is a dork that is being used primarily for comedy.
Wouldn’t it make more sense for WWE, a company that needs all the talent it can find, to make these two look strong so they can get back in the main event mix and finish out their conspiracy story that had such promise one month ago?
That would certainly be more preferable to the resolution that we got, which was another fake firing that no one is going to take seriously.
