16 Baseball Players We'd Love to See in Movies

Solomon RyanMay 31, 2018

Famous people can never have enough fame, it seems. After winning loads of trophies, a successful athlete might decide he wants to be an actor or a singer. Perhaps some actors dream also of being big name athletes.

It is never too early to start a new career, and for some of the baseball players mentioned below, retiring from baseball may be the better option.

Here is a list of 16 baseball players we would love to see in movies.

16. Brian Wilson

1 of 16

If they just made a movie about Brian Wilson’s beard, I would see it. This guy is a character. He has the beard, the outfits, the hair and the crazy look.

Wilson is the perfect fit for a villainous character that no one wants to mess around with.

15. Tim Lincecum

2 of 16

We had the beard with Wilson, and we have the hair with Lincecum. It’s not just about the hair, though. It’s about the way he handles himself.

Lincecum is just a chill, funny guy. He could play a character who always ends up being around the action even when he isn't trying just because he is such a cool bro.

14. Derek Jeter

3 of 16

Definitely the pretty boy. There is no question if Jeter had a leading role in a movie, he would star in a chick flick.

13. David Ortiz

4 of 16

Everybody knows that guy. The one who is funny, but you don’t want to be on his bad side. That’s Big Papi.

He can be like a teddy bear one minute and a raging bull the next. I can picture Ortiz in a film about friends. One friend would be the ladies man, another one the serious guy and Ortiz would have to be the jokster.

12. Jonathan Papelbon

5 of 16

Even though he may look mean on the field, Papelbon isn’t afraid to make fun of himself.

We have seen him dance like a fool and not really care. That’s why Papelbon would be a good actor. He could play a hero as well as a villain, but I think I would go with a surprise bad guy because of his crazy eyes when he is deep in concentration.

11. Alex Rodriguez

6 of 16

Nobody likes Rodriguez so it is easy to picture him as the guy in a romantic comedy who is the jerk that everyone in the movie theater wants the girl to leave in order for her to be with the right guy.

In order to be the jerk, Rodriguez would lie, cheat on her and take an enhancement that makes him have mood swings. Wait, that already happened…

10. Prince Fielder

7 of 16

Fielder is a lot like Ortiz except I would argue a little more crazy. His temper always gets the best of him which is why a fighting type movie would be perfect for Fielder.

9. Nyjer Morgan

8 of 16

I don’t think anyone knows the real Nyjer Morgan. Is he a funny guy or is he hot head? It is a mystery, and he would be the perfect detective/murderer in a movie.

You wouldn’t know if he was serious or just plain messing around.

8. Jim Thome

9 of 16

The art of knowing absolutely nothing about someone. I don’t know how Thome accomplished that with his numbers, but that’s exactly what happened. Thome has been known to shy away from the spotlight.

I would pay good money just to see him play any role in a movie.

7. Brandon Webb

10 of 16

Webb would play the guy you feel sorry for in a movie. He would start off a successful businessman with all the promise in the world. Before you know it, the business would go bankrupt.

All of his attempts to get another job would fail, ending in unemployment.

6. Kyle Farnsworth

11 of 16

I just want to see a fight scene with Kyle Farnsworth. That’s it.

5. Jo-Jo Reyes

12 of 16

I picture Jo-Jo Reyes starring in a romantic comedy. He can talk to the ladies relatively well, but there is always another guy who takes away the girl at the last second.

Eventually he’ll get the girl, but she’ll divorce him just like the Blue Jays did.

4. Adam Dunn

13 of 16

Dunn would play the tough southern farmer that no one likes. He would sit around drinking beers letting time pass away on his front porch heckling women and shooing kids off his property.

3. Omar Vizquel

14 of 16

It is very hard not to like Omar Vizquel. I can picture him being in a “Green Mile” type movie because it seems like he never ages.

At the end of the movie people would discover that Vizquel has a supernatural power.

2. Ichiro

15 of 16

I’m just going to say Ichiro is a magician. No one has seen a batting stance like his and he is contemplating pitching at the end of his career. He is freakishly athletic.

Ichiro would play a perfect magician because he is sneaky. One minute he’s on the stage and the next he disappears.

1. Johnny Damon

16 of 16

The person I would most like to see in a movie is Johnny Damon. He has kind of cooled down his act since coming to Tampa, but he is still one of the most entertaining people in sports.

The ideal role for Damon would be the guy who always finds himself in the wrong situation at the wrong time. However, somehow he always finds a way out,
