WWE Night of Champions 2011 Results: Triple H and CM Punk Must Join Forces

Normally, when there is interference in a wrestling match, it takes away from the story that the two wrestlers in the match are trying to tell. But at Night of Champions, the interference in the CM Punk and Triple H match added to the drama.

In case you missed it, Miz and R-Truth came out near the end of the match to attack Punk, Triple H and the referee. Triple H hit a pedigree on Punk, and when another referee came down to count the fall R-Truth pulled him out of the ring.

If that was not enough, Kevin Nash made his return and attacked both Punk and Triple H. He power-bombed Punk and tried to do the same thing to Triple H through a table, but it did not work as Triple H attacked him with a sledgehammer.

The finish saw Triple H pedigree Punk to remain Chief Operating Officer of WWE.

The interference made the match better because each one of the people that got involved had a legitimate reason for getting involved that was laid out on television over the last few weeks.

Miz and R-Truth have felt disrespected by Triple H, and they believed that Punk was in on the conspiracy to hold them back.

Laurinaitis has been Triple H’s whipping boy on television for the last two months and has been biding his time so he could take over the company. And Nash is the enforcer that he has been working with behind the scenes, which would explain the phantom car crash story WWE did last month.

Now, there are a number of different directions that WWE can take this storyline. CM Punk and Triple H can work together to take out Nash, Miz, Truth and Laurinaitis.

It could also lead to more division between Punk and Triple H, and Nash, Miz, Truth and Laurinaitis feast on the opportunity and take over RAW from Triple H.

These kinds of finishes have been used by WWE more often than they should be, especially in the last two years, but since everyone getting involved had a clear purpose and fit into the storyline, it made perfect sense to bring so many guys out at the end of the match.

All we have to do is hope that the creative team has a clear understanding of where the storyline is going to go and capitalizes on it while the fire is still burning.
