Michael Vick Injury: How Is Eagles Star QB's Head?

Eric BallJun 7, 2018

Uh oh.

Every Philadelphia Eagles fan had their worst nightmare come true when they watched star QB Michael Vick leave the game with an injury to his head.Vick had just thrown a pass when Falcons safety William Moore bear-hugged Vick in his arms and swung him around. On his way to the ground, Vick had helmet-to-helmet contact with teammate OT Todd Herremans, who was finishing a block.

The loss immediately impacted the game as Vick left with a lead but his team left the Georgia Dome against the Atlanta Falcons with a 35-31 loss.

It's a huge blow to the Eagles that may end up severely damaging Philly's playoff chances and seeding.

Here is all of the latest news on Vick's injury:

Latest Update:

After initially being diagnosed as a neck injury, Andy Reid confirmed in his postgame press conference that Vick had suffered a concussion. He was seen on the sidelines spitting up blood and looked extremely dazed on the sidelines. This was the result of biting his tongue...something that occurred on the play.

Fantasy Impact:

Fantasy owners knew they were rolling the dice by picking Vick, so hopefully you have a strong backup. It sounds like he's going to miss at least one week, with 2-4 weeks being my best guest. The NFL is very sensitive with concussions and the Eagles will not be able to rush back their star.

It's a huge blow, but that's the risk you take when you talk about Vick.

What they're Saying:

Twitter was abuzz with the injury to one of the NFL's premier players:

If Michael Vick is out for an extended period of time it would really upset me. Love watching him play.

Others weren't so kind:

Michael Vick has a concussion. One word. Karma.

Every time Michael Vick gets injured, a pit bull gets its wings.

Michael Vick has a concussion. The dream is over, Philly.

There was plenty of reaction to Vick's actions as he was leaving the field. He was being showered with boos as he walked to the locker room and stuck up his finger pointing to the scoreboard as his team held a 10-point lead. He was letting his emotions get the best of him...even while being dazed and confused.

Some fans weren't exactly thrilled with his action:

I hope Michael Vick at least comes back onto the field to give Falcons fans the finger one more time.

Now the Eagles have two home games on the slate with the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers.

With Vince Young nursing an injury of his own, it looks like Mike Kafka will be starting next Sunday. While it's going to be a rough few weeks in Philly, at least Vick doesn't have any broken bones.

He'll be back in plenty of time for the "dream team" to make a Super Bowl run.

But for now, it's time to panic in Philly.
