Tony Romo Injury: Cowboys' Star QB Silences Critics with Rebound Performance
Whatever was holding Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo back in the closing minutes of games in the past, he made sure to leave it behind him in Week 2 versus the San Francisco 49ers.
Not only did Romo sustain a fractured rib on Sunday and proceed to run back onto the field and re-enter the game in the fourth quarter when the Cowboys were trailing 21-14 away, but he also guided them back to tie the game and then win it in overtime, 27-24.
So much for his late-game jitters, huh?

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Of course, we all know what happened last week: Romo fumbling inside the New York Jets' 5-yard line in the fourth quarter and proceeding to throw a game-clinching interception to Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis.
This was after he had a 1-3 career record in the playoffs.
But on Sunday, Romo showed the type of individual he is—one that never quits and has the ability to rise above past mistakes.
Sure, it's not like it was a playoff game, but it's frankly remarkable what Romo was able to do—with a fractured rib, mind you—just a week after he was blasted for not stepping up against the Jets when it mattered.
Let's be clear: Romo will never completely rid the general perception of him in one game; he's going to need to lead the Cowboys deep into the playoffs to do that.
But his performance on Sunday should at least be a good sign. Here's a quarterback with all the tools to succeed and who usually does. If he can figure out his late-game woes, he's a quarterback who can legitimately lead his team to the Super Bowl one day.
If anything, Romo showed on Sunday he's taking this thing seriously.
If he keeps at it, he will undoubtedly turn some heads and become the game-changer we all secretly knew he could be.
