WWE Night of Champions 2011 Results: What's Next for Dolph Ziggler After His Win

Dolph Ziggler seems to be in a holding pattern. The WWE will push him for a little while and then completely crush him right after words. They seem to like him as a heel who builds heat but then gets squashed.  

Not to mention there was the fiasco with the WWE making him cut his hair and turn in brown. It made him almost unrecognizable from some of his opponents and it seemed like he was being punished. He seemed to be ordinary instead of the image of perfection he and his theme song claimed that he was.

Now after a win at Night of Champions, I'm not sure what is next for him. Though I can hazard a guess.

All signs point to a feud with Swagger as Ziggler pushed him out of the way to steal the win. Wrestling 101 says that this comes to a brawl.

It seems like the most logical choice too. After all, Swagger is the "All American American" and so feuding with Ziggler over the US title makes sense.

And yet it seems more like Ziggler is being groomed to be a stepping stone for Swagger.  That doesn't mean that the WWE won't build up the rivalry properly, though they might not, it just means that Ziggler isn't going to get a long-term push. 

And as long as Ziggler is paired with Vickie Guerrero that is how it's going to be.  Guerrero is not capable of getting a standing ovation or even a lukewarm bit of applause.  She is hated throughout the wrestling fanbase.  As long as he is attached with her Ziggler will never have a chance at being anything but a heel.

And heels simply don't get to win the big one. It's as simple as that. It doesn't matter what kind of applause he gets or what kind of win he pulls off, tonight was all about building up Swagger, not Ziggler.

So, tonight was about establishing Jack Swagger the fallen hero, not Dolph Ziggler the champion.

As for Ziggler?

If I'm right then it means that his future with the WWE is going to be more of what it already has been.

Less than perfect.
