Packers vs. Panthers Video: Watch Cam Newton and Aaron Rodgers Light Up the Sky
I think by now it’s a safe bet to assume that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is going to throw for a whole lot of yards every time he steps on an NFL football field.
Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Cam Newton, on the other hand, was still considered a relative unknown coming into their matchup with the defending Super Bowl champions.
If you were able to watch the game or take a look at the highlights, then there should be no doubt that Newton can sling the ball around the field with the best of them in the NFL, even as a rookie.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
He’s no Rodgers, not even close, but as he continues to grow and mature as an NFL quarterback I expect to see more and more impressive work out of the rookie.
He’s put up monstrous yards in his first two starts, and if he can eventually get over that rookie learning curve and cut down on the errors, he is going to be a great quarterback.
As far as this game was concerned though, Newton and Rodgers put on the show of the week through the air.
It seemed like every other play was a long bomb down the field as both quarterbacks combined for 734 yards.
Rodgers went 19-of-30 for 308 yards and two touchdowns and was clearly the better quarterback, but that should be expected when comparing the Super Bowl MVP to a rookie.
For all of his mistakes Newton looked rather impressive at times though. He completed 28-of-46 for one touchdown through the air and another with his legs.
Turnovers were the eventual downfall of the Panthers though. Newton threw three interceptions, two to Charles Woodson, who also recovered a fumble, and that was all the Packers needed to pull this one out.
The Packers improve their record to 2-0 while the Panthers drop to 0-2.
Those are the official numbers and stories of the game, but if that is all you got out of it you will be missing out on a lot.
Rodgers and Newton put on a show of epic proportions, and I’m excited to see these two dynamic quarterbacks meet up in the future
