Michael Vick: Would He Have Won Falcons a Super Bowl By Now?
With Michael Vick returning to the place that made him famous, the Atlanta Falcons fans have come under scrutiny for their support of the former Falcon.
When the Philadelphia Eagles walk into the Georgia Dome, there will be No. 7 Falcons and Eagles jerseys strewn throughout the Falcons home, and they will be vocal about their support of the home team and the visiting quarterback.
All of this talk has brought up questions about whether or not Vick would have already won a Super Bowl if he had stayed in Atlanta and out of trouble.
The talk is all speculative, but that’s the art we dabble in and these are the reasons for and against the possibility of Vick winning a championship in Atlanta. Enjoy!

4. Vick Didn't Have Talent Around Him
1 of 8The biggest part of Vick's issues was the fact that he didn’t have a team around him that was good enough to get over the playoff hump.
While Warrick Dunn was a solid running back, the receiving group of Ashley Lelie and Michael Jenkins was terrible, and the defense wasn’t out-of-this-world fantastic.
4. Vick Didn't Need Anyone Around Him to Dazzle
2 of 8Who is the only quarterback that rushed for over 1,000 yards and passed for over 1,000?
That’s right, in 2006, Michael Vick had 2.474 yards passing with 20 touchdowns while adding another 1,039 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
While the receiving group did stink, Roddy White would have turned into a stellar wide receiver and Michael Turner would have been amazing in that offense.
3. Vick Learned to Be a Pocket Quarterback That Can Scramble in Philly
3 of 8The biggest reason that Vick would never win a Super Bowl in Atlanta is because he didn’t know how to be a pocket passer, and pocket passers win Super Bowls.
Vick can run around all day, but until he had a fundamental understanding of what it means to be a quarterback in the NFL, he was destined to be mediocre.
3. Vick Was Doing Just Fine as a Running Quarterback
4 of 8The Atlanta Falcons were not a serious playoff contender until Michael Vick came to town, and after getting adjusted to the system, Vick was one of the most dangerous playmakers in the NFL.
As he was in Atlanta is how he played in Philadelphia’s Week 1 victory over the St. Louis Rams, and while it wasn’t as pretty as his other wins, it was still a win.
2. Vick Had Too Many Distractions to Give What It Takes to Win
5 of 8There were too many ‘yes men’ in Michael Vick’s Atlanta life, and as horrible as it is to say, I’m sure he is glad that he had a chance to get his life back.
Vick couldn’t concentrate on the off-the-field requirements that it takes to be an elite quarterback, and he only realized that after incarceration and a trip to Philadelphia.
2. Vick May Not Have Cared off the Field, but He Was Money on the Field
6 of 8All of the allegations of a lack of effort were confirmed by Vick himself, but there is no question about how great he was on the field. Players like Vick don’t need practice to be great when they are as naturally gifted as Vick is.
There would have been plenty of time in Atlanta to straighten him out, and it wouldn’t have taken prison to bring the man out of him.
1. Vick Needed to Be Humbled
7 of 8With all of his talent and all of the circumstances he faced every day in Atlanta, it would be fair to say that Vick felt indestructible and he acted that way, on and off the field.
Nothing would have stopped his actions besides having it all taken away from him, and that was the best thing that ever happened to him. Unlike most people, Vick got a true second chance and has built on it.
1. Vick Was Humble
8 of 8Michael Vick was the personification of hard work getting you to a place of wealth and success.
People viewed him as a role model, and if it wasn’t for his arrest, he would still be marching the ball up and down the field for the Falcons, and winning at least one Super Bowl.
