WWE Night of Champions 2011: CM Punk Will Shock the World and Trip Up Triple H
At Night of Champions tonight, we will be treated to one of the biggest matches of the year—Triple H vs. CM Punk. Originally scheduled to be Kevin Nash vs. CM Punk, Triple H took Nash’s place when it was clear he would not be able to wrestle at the event due to medical reasons.
Triple H is a legend in this business. He is one of the best superstars to ever grace a WWE ring. He was last seen in in-ring action at WrestleMania XXVII where he faced the Undertaker in an epic battle.
CM Punk has recently taken the wrestling world by storm with his metaphorical “pipe bombs,” shocking dedicated spectators and confusing casual fans. His verbal abuse to Triple H has caused this match and created an engaging and thought provoking feud. There are still many unanswered questions, but none of that matters tonight when these two superstars get it on inside the squared circle.

CM Punk will shock the world tonight and beat Triple H. Some may ask “why is that shocking the world?”
Well, Triple H has put his COO Job on the line in this No Disqualification contest.
Over the past few months, WWE creative have shown me that they are finally starting to surprise people and do what is best for the storylines, not what is best for debunking theories and predictions from dirt-sheets.
This is the first reason I believe CM Punk will win tonight. The most-surprising thing would be for CM Punk to actually beat Triple H cleanly in the middle of the ring. If he did that, not only would it prove that he is the best in the world, but I have a feeling the whole arena would mark out. I know I would.
Punk winning would do a lot more for the storyline and the business as a whole if he wins the match. We might even get to see the release of his ice creams!
Triple H was appointed as COO of the company during the beginning of this whole CM Punk debacle, replacing Vince McMahon as the main figurehead. Many would argue that his time as COO has not been as revolutionary as people originally thought it would be.
There is a change in the WWE; I can see it with the evolution of tag-teams and mid-card superstars. There is a long way to go and many believe Triple H is not the man to get us there and we need Vince McMahon back. This is the second reason why CM Punk will win tonight.
The lack of faith in Triple H and this whole storyline with Kevin Nash, if taken seriously by WWE creative, could result in a changing of the guard. Who would take over from Triple H I don’t know, but even I think he looks uncomfortable in a suit.
CM Punk needs to win the match so Triple H can be relieved of this position that seems to be getting on top of him in terms of the storyline. I don’t think he banked on it being as stressful as it was and the fact that he is already in a match with an employee two months after being promoted, does not bode well for the Cerebral Assassin.
At the moment, there are not a lot of veterans available to build the younger superstars. I believe this is what has led to a lack of direction in the WWE and the devaluation of titles, as creative use them instead of legends to try and build superstars.
Therefore, the third reason I believe CM Punk will win tonight is so that Triple H can return to full time competition in a last ditch attempt to make the most of the current generation of superstars.
If he was booked as Chris Jericho was booked, many superstars could be made under the tutelage of The Game, just look at Randy Orton and Batista.
This leads onto the fourth reason CM Punk will win tonight. Triple H can still go. He can still wrestle for a good 15-20 minutes and his career is far from over. He could make the most of having a few final years in the ring and a chance to make a few more memorable moments.
I’m not saying he should be as prominent as he was, but swapping the suit for some trunks for one last time can’t do any harm to him or the company, or the superstars he would face. I’ve liked Sheamus since his debut, but his feud with Triple H is what really won me over.
If Punk wins and forces Triple H out of his position as COO of the company, then this would be the best direction for him and that is why I think a CM Punk victory is a likely scenario.
CM Punk will shock the world tonight and trip up Triple H.
