Hakeem Nicks Injury: New York Giants Don't Need WR To Beat Rams
The New York Giants and St. Louis Rams face off on Monday Night Football this week in what should be a very intriguing matchup.
That being said, I’m sure if both teams had the option to take the week off and rest their players, they would be more than happy to do so.
This is a matchup of two teams that have dealt with enough injuries to last a whole season, and the scary thing is that we are only entering Week 2.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Giants defense has been absolutely decimated so far, including injuries to rookie cornerback Prince Amukamara, and defensive ends Justin tuck and Osi Umenyiora. That’s not even including cornerback Terrell Thomas and linebacker Jonathan Goff, who were lost for the season before it even kicked off.
If you think the Rams' injury outlook is much better, then you will be sorely disappointed
The Rams offense is facing some serious question marks heading into the game. Star running back Steven Jackson is questionable as well as receiver Danny Amendola.
Quarterback Sam Bradford was cleared to play with a right index finger injury, but the impact it will have on his overall game is still up in the air.
For all the injuries that this game features, perhaps the biggest impact player in question is Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks. Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger reported on the injury:
"(Tom) Coughlin confirmed WR Hakeem Nicks has a bone bruise (no ligament damage) and said Nicks is "making pretty good progress." Coughlin wouldn’t speculate whether Nicks will play on Monday, but rumblings right now are he’ll be ready to go. He won’t practice today, however.
"
While it’s not a good situation seeing your best receiver go down with an injury, the good news is that it looks like Nicks could play if he felt he was able to go. Garafolo tweeted the latest on the situation:
"No team stuff for Nicks today. Maybe tomorrow. As for whether it's really Nicks' call, Coughlin said nope. Just some input.

It’s good news for the Giants that Nicks feels he can play but, in my opinion, he shouldn’t rush himself back against the Rams.
If this were a different situation or different team, I would have no problem trotting Nicks out there, but the truth is, the Giants shouldn’t need him to beat this Rams team.
If the Rams were at full strength, I would say that the Giants need every hand on deck, but the Rams don’t pose much of a threat as beat up as they are.
The Giants would be wise to let Nicks sit for another week and rest, or at least suit him up and keep him on the bench for a dire situation.
The smartest thing they can do right now is get him healthy.
Anything else is unnecessary.
