And now...the big matches
Casket Match: The Undertaker defeats The Big Show
Despite the intimidation factor, Big Show tries to remain tough by taking the fight outside. Show decides to use the ECW announcer's table to his advantage, but the Phenom hits the Leg Drop on Show, breaking the table in the process. As Taker goes for Ol' School, Show counters into a superplex and gains control.
He puts Taker in the casket, but is oblivious to the main rule of the match: You have to shut the casket door. As Show goes up top, Taker counters into a chokeslam, but Show recovers and destroys the casket. As he tries to leave, Show comes eye to eye with a blaze of fire...and the druids decide to bring out another casket. The Deadman takes control with a set of soupbones, and right before Show falls off the stage, he launches him into the casket. The casket falls down and the lid closes on top of him, giving The Undertaker the win in a physical matchup.
WWE Championship
Edge Returns to Defeat Triple H, Vladimir Kozlov & Jeff Hardy to become new Champion!
All night, we were hearing about Jeff Hardy's "incident" in a Boston hotel. When it came match time, it was Triple H vs. Vladimir Kozlov. The Game had control of the match following a DDT and continued the assault until a battering ram halted the advantage. Kozlov uses his Sambo moves to keep The Game grounded, but Triple H recovers and nails the Pedigree. This is where things get interesting...
Vickie Guerrero comes out and makes good on her Triple Threat Match by screaming "He's here! He's here!" But instead of getting Jeff Hardy, Boston gets the return of a Crude, Lewd, Bearded and Tattooed Rated R Superstar. Edge charges in and delivers a Spear to Triple H. But before he can capitalize, Jeff Hardy runs down and plays Home Run Derby with The Game and The Moscow Mauler.
Following a Spear to Hardy, Edge covers a chair wrapped Triple H to return and become the new WWE Champion! Now that's a great way to start the new era for the WWE. Now can they continue that new era momentum...
World Heavyweight Championship
John Cena Returns to Defeat Chris Jericho to become the new World Heavyweight Champion!
The crowd erupts as an emotional John Cena returns to a sellout crowd at the Boston Gardens. Cena goes on the offensive by going for the STFU and the FU right off the bat. As Jericho tries to gain control, Cena battles back with a Throwback. But Jericho continues the assault on Cena's repaired neck. Jericho continues the punishment on the outside.
The champion locks in the full nelson not once but twice, and Cena escapes the submission not once but twice. Cena begins to fight back, but Jericho counters the 5-Knuckle Shuffle into the Walls of Jericho. After Cena fights out of the Walls, he gets caught with a series of clotheslines. Jericho locks in the Walls of Jericho once again, but Cena reaches the ropes to escape the hold...but not the clotheslines.
Following the Beantown and a Codebreaker, Jericho has control until Cena locks in the STFU. But Jericho wiggles out of the STFU and rolls up Cena, but Cena counters the roll up and lifts Jericho up. Cena lifts him up and delivers another FU to get the win and become the new World Heavyweight Champion!
So in one night, we saw the Legend Killer strike, the Ultimate Opportunist Return and The Champ Return to the top of RAW's Mountain! What will this week bring for the stars of RAW, ECW & SmackDown! with the fallout of Survivor Series fresh in everyone's mind?
Better yet, can Cena last more than one week as World Champion? Or will Jericho try to take advantage of a good situation? What will Triple H do now that he's no longer WWE Champion? Are Edge and Vickie back? What does the future hold for Jeff Hardy and Vladimir Kozlov?
Find out this week on WWE Programming.
All in all, I will give Survivor Series 4.25 Stars.
