WWE Rumor: The Rock vs. John Cena at WrestleMania to Become Best of 3 Series
F4WOnline.com (b/w Wrestlescoop) report that WWE have been trying to convince The Rock to perform at this year's Survivor Series PPV.
The original plan was to have the People's Champion merely turn up, perform in some form of segment that kept his feud with Cena going and then leave until next time. Before now, it was thought that WWE did not want The Rock to have a match until he faced Cena at WrestleMania.
Whilst there is no confirmation from within the company, sources believe that creative are leaning towards a best of three series. Presumably the first will take place at Survivor Series, the second at the Royal Rumble and the final at WrestleMania XXVIII.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
I have to say that I am not 100% certain if I want The Rock to wrestle before WrestleMania. At this moment his first match back is the soul purpose for why I am going to be buying the PPV next spring.
If he has a match before then, it could easily sway my decision, even more so if he faces Cena twice before then.
WrestleMania XXVIII will lose its biggest draw if the main event becomes one in a series of three. Realistically the third match would happen at Mania and they will be 1-1 come the event. One of the reasons I look forward to the match because I believe it will be one of the few times I can expect Cena to lose clean.
After all, why would The Rock come back just to lose? At 1-1, Rock will have already picked up a win and considering his character's past as long as he has beaten someone at least once, that's all that mattered (see WrestleMania XIX vs. Steve Austin).
We will have to wait for more details to emerge before then. Take note that The Rock is due to appear on an episode of Raw before Survivor Series.
