WWE Night of Champions: 8 Possible Outcomes for Triple H vs. CM Punk

Sean O'NeilJun 7, 2018

For this Sunday night's WWE Night of Champions' pay-per-view, there have been six matches announced.

The match which is easily the most anticipated is the match between CM Punk and Triple H. The match is a No Disqualification match where, if Triple H loses, he will have to re-sign as Chief Operating Officer of the WWE.

Here are eight possible outcomes for the WWE Night of Champions' biggest match.

CM Punk Wins Cleanly

1 of 8

CM Punk winning cleanly is certainly an option on Sunday, but the chances of it actually happening are very slim.

Although it would raise the integrity of Punk immensely if he defeated Triple H in a pure fashion, it would not be nearly as much fun as the other options on this list. Furthermore, it would not add anything to the storyline of the coming weeks on RAW, leading up to Hell in a Cell.

Probability: Unlikely

Triple H Wins Cleanly

2 of 8

This option, just like the last one, also has a slim chance of happening on Sunday.

The reasoning is similar as well. If Triple H were to win cleanly, the storyline would either come to an end or wind up on a permanent pause. The WWE does not want a potentially promising story to end like that, so do not expect any clean victories this weekend.

Probability: Unlikely

The Miz and R-Truth Attack CM Punk

3 of 8

The Miz and R-Truth have their Tag Team Championship match this Sunday, but they have also declared that they believe in the conspiracy against them and that CM Punk is a part of that conspiracy.

Both the Miz and R-Truth have fought Punk over the past few weeks on RAW and, at their last meeting, Punk got the best of R-Truth as Miz was rendered useless outside the ring.

These two could definitely invade the ring on Sunday looking for some payback and help Triple H to a victory.

Probability: Somewhat Likely

The Miz and R-Truth Attack Triple H

4 of 8

On RAW this past Monday, Miz and Truth stated that they wanted Triple H to lose to CM Punk at Night of Champions.

So if those two want Triple H to lose in a no disqualification match, why not interfere themselves and make sure that Triple H doesn't win his match. I could definitely see this happening.

Probability: Likely

The Miz and R-Truth Attack Both CM Punk and Triple H

5 of 8

If Miz and Truth do make an appearance at the match and attack one of the contestants, why not attack both of them?

After the match is more than halfway over, with Punk and Triple H exhausted, Miz and Truth could come down into the ring and take out both of them. Then, when the two of them are left lying in the ring, Miz and Truth could decide who is going to win the match by lying either Punk or Hunter on the other for the pin.

Who knows, its could happen!

Probability: Somewhat Likely

Vince McMahon Shows Up and Distracts Triple H

6 of 8

Remember this picture? I bet Vince McMahon does.

Mr. McMahon is bound to show up in the WWE picture again at some point and it is a definite possibility that that point could be this Sunday at Night of Champions.

Right as Triple H is about to hit a Pedigree on CM Punk, McMahon could show up and distract Triple H long enough that Punk hits the GTS, gets the pin, wins the match and Triple H loses his position as COO.

Payback for Vince.

Probability: Somewhat Likely

Kevin Nash and John Lauranitis Screw Triple H

7 of 8

I could see either of these last two happening more than any of the other possibilities.

As Triple H is beginning to get the upper hand in the match, John Lauranitis walks out with Kevin Nash and they head towards the ring. Nash enters the ring, hits a jackknife powerbomb on Triple H and watches as Punk gets the pin.

In this situation I would see Nash clearly working for Lauranitis and, because Triple H must resign as COO, Lauranitis is now going to take charge of the position.

An alteration of this situation would be Nash powerbombing both Triple H and Punk and laying Punk on Triple H. In this situation, Punk and Hunter could see that they actually have a common enemy and the two could team up against Nash in the future.

Tons of possibilities, but the main point is that Nash is screwing Triple H out of his job as COO.

Probability: Very Likely

Kevin Nash Teams with Triple H and Attacks CM Punk

8 of 8

If I had to put my money on one situation that will occur this Sunday, this is the one I would predict.

I think that Punk was right when he said he wasn't buying into Nash and Triple H's broken friendship. I think Punk was right when he said that the two were acting and I believe that these two have been working together behind the curtains the whole time.

Triple H did send the text to Kevin Nash at Summerslam and I think we will find that out either this Sunday or Monday.

On Sunday, I see Nash coming down to the ring and pausing as the three of them look confused as to what is going to happen. Then, Nash and Triple H turn on Punk and hit him with a jackknife powerbomb and a pedigree.

When this happens, Triple H can remain as COO and he would turn heel, which is necessary because this face-versus-face business that they have going on can't last much longer.

Probability: Very Likely

Any other ideas?
