WWE: 6 Reasons Why Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks Make a Good Team
You have to give WWE creative credit—they are trying.
With the discussion of possible tag teams evolving and the need for better teams to compete against each other, creative teams for both Smackdown and Raw are working to find teams that would work well together.
Take away the fact that injury derailed two of the biggest performers in the company in Big Show and Kane.
Take away the fact that David Otunga and Mike McGillicutty don't have a clue.
Take away the fact that DH Smith and Vladimir Kozlov were released.
With all that going on, Air Boom and Miz and R-Truth must be smiling from ear to ear right now.
Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins are the latest duo being tried out as a tag team. The hope for their success really relies on their ability to work with each other and not against each other.
In the past, some of the best performers in the ring could just work with what they had and create magic.
These are the reasons that could happen for this duo.
6. They Have Tag Team Experience Before
1 of 6Both worked in FCW in developing their craft before moving to the big show.
Reks and Hawkins were champions in Florida and know how to tag team wrestle. This is not a case of just being thrown together and asked to work a miracle.
Their familiarity with each other pays off in a big way.
5. Both Have Big Egos
2 of 6All wrestlers have to have a sense of self, but it seems Hawkins and Reks are confident enough to make a go of it.
Even in the way they talk with other wrestlers, like Wade Barrett, it seems they believe they can be the best at what they do.
That is half the battle.
4. Right Now You Could Make a Case They Are the Third Best Tag Team in WWE
3 of 6They are better than Otunga and McGillicutty. They don't have to wrestle Kidd and Hart Smith. They won't get a chance to see Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel.
The Usos have been quiet.
So they could be better than anyone else but Air Boom and Miz and R-Truth right now.
3. Hawkins Won Tag Team Gold with Zack Ryder
4 of 6Hawkins and Ryder teamed up to win several regional tag teams titles and even claimed the WWE world tag team titles.
If that is not a vote of confidence, I don't know what is (yes, that is sarcasm).
2. They Have a "Beauty and the Beast" Thing Going on
5 of 6Hawkins is a pretty boy. Reks looks like he needs five showers.
It is an "opposites attract" kind of relationship and looks good on paper and in the ring.
They appeal to the masses.
1. With What Is Being Done in the Tag Team Division, WWE May Have Struck Gold
6 of 6They are young, they are brash and they are hungry.
It may be that because of this they do not know any better and can go right in and make a difference.
And for that reason, they could be that damn good.
