Kevin Walter out and David Anderson In: Texans Lose Nothing
The Houston Texans lose almost nothing with Kevin Walter having a severely bruised shoulder and probably missing their Week 2 match up against the Dolphins.
Most teams in the NFL, particularly teams that are driven by their offense, would be in trouble if they lost their number two receiver. However, the Texans happen to be very well suited for dealing with this particular injury.
The most important thing to note is that while Walter is the number two receiver he isn't the second option. Owen Daniels is Matt Schaub's second favorite target. Now that Daniels is back and healthy Walter is moved down a rung on the Texans offensive depth chart. Daniels essentially does everything that Walter does but better than Walter with the exception of lining up outside to spread the field.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
If the Texans need someone to stretch the field they also have that in Jacoby Jones. Jones is a true speedster, as demonstrated by his punt return for a touchdown in Week 1 against the Colts. Jones has true deep speed and actually makes the Texans more athletic when he is in the game instead of Walter.
Finally, the Texans resigned David Anderson on Tuesday. This may not seem like a big move to those outside of the locker room but the guys inside the locker room absolutely love David Anderson.
They were all disappointed to see him go this offseason after he was cut due to cap reasons. In addition to what he brings to the locker room he also brings a working knowledge of the offense and a scrappy mentality that fits very well on this Texans team.
The difference between good teams and bad teams is often determined by the depth that they have and their ability to move past the inevitable injuries that occur during the NFL marathon. This year the Texans seem to be headed towards being a good team, but it takes 16 games to determine that.
