WWE Rumors: Rock vs. Cena Could Be a Best of Three Series

Several sources, including wrestlezone.com, are heavily rumoring a potential Rock vs. Cena best-of-three series.

This would lead to a final match culminating at WrestleMania.

As we know, The Rock is scheduled to be at Survivor Series. However, it's still unknown as to what capacity. Chances are he will probably come out and cut a promo and have some sort of altercation with Cena.

If this is indeed what is expected to happen, I would not anticipate it helping the fledgling pay-per-view's buy-rate. Ideally, the rumored best-of-three series beginning at Survivor Series would be huge and would easily bring Survivor Series back to life.

The biggest problem with that is it could lower WrestleMania's buy-rate, as people might not care to see Cena vs. The Rock again, regardless of the consequences.

I, however, feel this feud can continue to be built without a best of three. Instead, the two could captain a four-man team and have a classic Survivor Series matchup.

The only catch being, neither man would wrestle. Instead, they would be in the corner for their respective team.

In my eyes, this match would be a throwaway, as ultimately mayhem would break out between the two teams. This would cause The Rock and Cena to step in and be the last two men standing after they both clear the ring.

Then, you could have them standing face-to-face and maybe trade some punches, until Triple H orders security to break it up as the pay-per-view ends.

I guess we will have to wait and see if this rumor comes to fruition. In the meantime, we will be forced to speculate and hope for the best.
