WWE, Is the Pairing of the Miz and R-Truth Really Going Anywhere?
The Miz and R-Truth have gotten off to somewhat of a slow start since joining forces a couple of weeks ago RAW.
At first glance, it seemed as though the pairing was a great move, as each man is over, and still hovering around upper card to main event status. Most fans recognized that putting Miz and Truth together was a shot in the arm for both of them, and meant that they would likely become a major force on RAW.
But, since then? Not so much.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
It’s still very early, so perhaps I am jumping the gun on this. After all, these things need time to evolve, and The Awesome Truth, as some fans have dubbed them, have been a unit for all of ten minutes.
But, wrestling fans are notoriously impatient. We tend to want instant gratification, we expect results right here and right now.
Don’t blame us for that one, we are a product of the company who announces a “huge“ match, then only spends two hours building it up.
Why? Because it’s the main event for that night.
So, here we have R-Truth, who has really reached an all time high in his heel persona, and The Miz, who has proven that he is willing to work very hard to be one of the best young talents in the company.
Okay, now they’re on the same page. What do you do with them?
The obvious answer is push them for the WWE Tag Team Championships. It’s easy, it makes sense, and the belts would solidify them as a true team in the company. It seems the logical direction to take.
Logical, and painfully predictable.
How many times have we seen WWE make this very move? Dozens? Hundreds? More?
It’s a formula that has been repeated so often, that it has become, as Michael Cole would say, “vintage” WWE.
You have a couple of guys who are very visible on the program. They’re both good heels, they get over pretty well, probably selling some merchandise, each man is an asset to the company.
But, they have individually sort of hit a wall, been there and done that, so to speak. Each man is in a holding pattern, not really very important in any relevant way.
What to do, what to do? Hey! I know! Time for a tag team!
In case you were wondering, yes, that was WWE creative at its finest.
The fact is, they are indeed challenging Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne for the WWE Tag Titles, and they will likely go over, if not at Night of Champions, then eventually. And, no, none of us will be surprised, it’s the familiar routine we all expect.
The other course of action that could be taken for Miz and Truth? Maybe a couple of black and white T-shirts.
Delving into the realm of psycho crazy speculation, perhaps we should consider the possibility that some of the looney toon fans out there who believe that the nWo is making a comeback, are right after all.
Oh, and if you’re reading this and you are one of those looney toon fans, my apologies. I happen to love Bugs and Daffy.
If a new, younger, hipper nWo faction really is in the works, then Truth and Miz could very well be two of the charter members.
After all, speaking out against a major conspiracy going on behind the scenes reeks of defiant rebellion, and that is precisely the mindset needed to grab a can of spray paint and go to work.
Well, that, and being two flunkies who aren’t main event status doesn’t hurt either.
Trust me, I don’t want that to happen, I like both guys, and want to see them do well. They have each worked hard to be where they are, and have proven they have what it takes to continue making it in a big way in WWE.
If that is meant to happen as a team, then so be it. I will settle for that, I suppose. But, let’s get a move on, shall we? Freaking impatient over here.
