WWE Raw Results: Top 10 Moments from Last Night's Show

Justin WatryJun 7, 2018

Last night was a very eventful WWE Raw episode. Not everything was memorable, but enough to inspire me to do a top-10 list.

It should be noted that I will be posting a minor Superstars spoiler during my article. I am not sure who still cares about Superstars, but I am posting a warning now to avoid any backlash on the matter.

Let's get started with a little bit of irony...

10. Air Boom? That Sounds Familiar!

1 of 10

Air Boom?

Where have I heard that name before? Oh yeah!

I called Kofi and Bourne "Air Boom" last week in my article. Wow, funny how things work out sometimes?

Honestly, there is not much to brag about here. I predicted their name dead on, and now we can all move on with some new teams being brought in (hopefully).

9. WWE Brand Split Over?

2 of 10

I am not a fan of this one bit. I understand why WWE made this announcement, but let it be known to the world right now.

Justin Watry is against ending the brand split.

Yes, it will probably be cool for the next couple of weeks, but this move is more than likely a panic move with a low rating and the dreadful Monday Night Football regular season coming up soon.

Again, I will wait and see how this goes and try to be as positive as always, but I do not like it right now.

8. Christian Pinned in the Main Event

3 of 10

His theme song is called "Just Close Your Eyes." Guess what, Christian Crew?

You might as well close your eyes tonight for SuperSmackdown because the end of Raw was not a good sign for his short-term future with WWE.

You would think with a big World title match the next night, Christian would pick up a win (like Orton did earlier in the night) and at least look like a threat, right? Right?!?!

Nope. He was pinned clean in the middle of the ring, 24 hours before his last title match. It's not going to be pretty tonight!

7. HHH vs Punk?

4 of 10

This sure was a classic Raw ending last night. However, was it a good ending or a bad ending?

I don't know. I am torn on the issue. Early word is Nash had some problems with his WWE physical last week in Pittsburgh, so Triple H is returning early to fill the slot.

If true, kudos to WWE for looking out for Big Kev's health! Yes, he is a lot older and can't  do much in the ring, but there is no reason to be foolish and throw him in the ring if he is not ready.

Honestly, I never thought Punk/Triple H would make it Wrestle Mania, and I already predicted a Team Punk vs. Team HHH match at Survivior Series, so, yes, it is a little early for their first-ever match, but not too early.

6. Cena and Sheamus Win

5 of 10

This was a cool match. Sheamus and Cena teaming up was a cool thing to do for the fans last night, and it seemed to work well for the live audience.

Sometimes, great heels make even better faces. Right now, Cena is the top face in business, and Sheamus is slowly making his mark as the next top face. Great move teaming these two up!

5. Kelly Kelly Losing?!?!

6 of 10

Bad move here. Kelly Kelly is the current reigning Diva's champion and is feuding with Beth/Nattie.

There is no reason whatsoever for a Bella Twin to win. Honestly, I can't tell the twins apart, and picking up a random win here was pointless. If Beth ran out or something, fine, but she didn't.

Warning: Minor Superstars spoiler is next...anybody really care?

4. Morrison Losing on Superstars Now?

7 of 10

Uh-oh!

Morrison now eating pin falls on Superstars? Oh no! That can't be! He is such a huge break-out Superstar who is ready to main event WWE for years to come!

He is so amazing in the ring and the crowd loves him, and his backstage problems are so overblown, right? Right?!?! Please be true?!?!

Sorry, according to WrestleZone, R-Truth pinned Morrison in a match taped for Superstars. Ouch!

What is next for my Johnny Boy? Non-televised dark matches? Losing to Jobby Curtis?

3. Alex Riley Promo

8 of 10

This was short, yet very effective. Riley is going to be a major star, and he certainly has my stamp of approval. While he was not on TV this week, a short video package was all that was needed here.

It was just a quick reminder to keep an eye out for this guy. Whether it be in the next month, the next year—it doesn't matter. Riley has star written all over him.

On a night where Del Rio was in Mexico working out his work visa issues, I understand not mentioning the WWE champion, but ignoring Riley's bright future would not be wise.

Kudos to WWE for ignoring Del Rio being out of the country and giving a nod to Riley!

2. Orton vs. Dolph

9 of 10

This was such a great match it deserves all the credit in the world. I was tempted to give it the No. 1 slot but chose not to.

Dolph is a former World Champion, while Randy is the current World Champion. Great match to kick off the Raw SuperShow.

Once again, the current United States Champion had a great showing with a main event player. All of these amazing matches can only help his standing with the company.

Hats off to both men!

1. Mark Henry Is Still the Man

10 of 10

Wow! If this man gets any better, I may start calling for his WWE Hall of Fame induction to be held in 2012 come this spring!

Watch the video I posted! How can anybody not be a fan of this guy after watching that clip?

It is one thing to make your mark (pun intended) on Smackdown, but to take your talents and shine on Raw is another thing.

Lucky for us, Henry is a veteran of 15 years and can work both the taped stage and live stage. His promo with Cena was excellent, as was his main-event performance.

At Night of Champions, Mark Henry will prove all the doubters wrong as he will defeat Randy Orton (yes, Orton, not Christian) and become the World Heavyweight Champion!
