WWE: 5 People Who Deserve the Championship More Than Alberto Del Rio
Our new WWE Champion is Alberto Del Rio, or should I say Albertoooooooooo Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRio.
That’s right! That means we have to listen to Alberto’s mariachi entrance music, the numerous honks of a stupid expensive car (which he doesn’t own), and a ridiculous ring introduction by a guy who looks better dressed up as a fake Big Show.
At first, I thought this was going to be a short one- or two-day reign to set up another angle, but I'm afraid that this belt is here to stay for a while on Del Rio's waist.
Here are five people that I think are much more worthy to be the champ!
5. Mark Henry
1 of 5The World’s Strongest Man has been an absolute one-man wrecking crew lately. He has put such superstars as Kane and The Big Show on the shelf with his fiery temper and super human strength.
I realize that he hasn’t really been in the title picture recently, but shouldn’t he be? He may not have the skill set of ADR, but he can definitely get some heat. Isn’t that the heel’s job anyway?
4. The Miz
2 of 5Never has a man dropped faster from a champion contender to a mid-card jobber then the Miz. But why?
He can work the microphone. He can get heat. He is promotable. He can even get his opponent over, but after a tarnished rematch with Cena, he had to job to Alex Riley three or four times, and now he is with R-Truth?
Unless The Miz ends up being “Little Jimmy,” that angle is going nowhere.
Save The Miz!
3. Rey Mysterio Jr.
3 of 5Is there anyone more impressive pound for pound than Rey Mysterio?
The guy is marketable and energetic, and the WWE Universe loves him. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like Rey.
Besides that, Rey deserves the title simply because his first reign was less than two hours long. How do you let him win a “fake” title at the beginning of RAW only to lose it at the end of RAW? Especially since it was Rey’s first title reign?
2. John Cena
4 of 5OK… I’ll be the first one to declare that the belt needed to come off of Cena’s waist for a while, but compared to the irritating ADR, please Vince, put it back on him.
John Cena still electrifies the WWE Universe whether you love him or hate him. He evokes emotions in each fan’s heart.
He is also a marketable face for the WWE to help sell merchandise.
He also doesn’t have his own ring announcer and doesn't enter the arena in a new car while having no idea what kind it is.
1. CM Punk
5 of 5Chicago Made Punk was the last person to hold the “real" WWE championship. He beat John Cena for it in the middle of the ring.
There have been two other matches for the belt between Punk and Cena. One ended in interference, and one ended with Cena in the ropes.
In my mind, that means that Punk should still be champion. I have no problem with ADR cashing in his MITB briefcase after Punk’s match with Cena, but to cash it in after Nash jack-knifed him made me feel like we were watching the hardcore title matches where they were able to pin each other on the caterer’s prep table backstage if they wanted to.
Punk is the biggest thing going right now, and it is a shame that they are not rewarding his popularity with the championship.
