WWE RAW: Top 6 Moments of the Night

Sean O'NeilJun 7, 2018

Monday Night Raw was exciting to say the least, as we were introduced to the new RAW Super Show. We got to see superstars from Smackdown such as Sin Cara, Randy Orton, Christian and Mark Henry.

The WWE champion Alberto Del Rio was nowhere to be found, but it was a much needed break from the world of destinies. Here are my top six moments of the night.

6) Randy Orton Arrives and Defeats Dolph Ziggler

1 of 6

The arena went nuts when Orton's music hit and he faced off against Dolph Ziggler

It ended up being a great match, which unfortunately ended with a botched RKO But the one who was angry after the match was Vickie Guerrero. She left the ring very upset about the loss, but Jack Swagger seemed to be pretty happy backstage.

In the later match where Swagger faced off against Sin Cara, Vickie seemed very interested in joining with Swagger, but Dolph wasn't having any of it as he distracted Swagger enough to make him lose.

This storyline is interesting, and we shall see in the coming weeks where Vickie's true allegiances lie.

5) AirBoom Defends Their Title

2 of 6

Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne have found a name and it is AirBoom.

AirBoom came out on Monday night in defense of their first Tag Team Championship Title against the former New Nexus. The match went by pretty quickly as Kingston and Bourne took down their opponents with ease. These two look like a formidable duo and can be something to look forward to in the coming weeks.

After the match, Otunga and McGilligutty went up to the announcers table and were heated with Jerry Lawler for his commentary. It will be interesting to see what comes of this.

4) Opening Segment

3 of 6

The opening segment was fantastic tonight where we got to see more heat between CM Punk, Kevin Nash and Triple H

Triple H was clearly mad at Nash as the question of who sent the text message was still not answered. We learned that John Lauranitis signed Nash to a contract with the WWE and Punk, unlike Triple H, couldn't find more humor out of the situation.

His fake puking was hilarious to say the least, but his "You do wear her panties, don't ya?" directed towards Triple H may have been the boiling point.

In the end, Punk and Nash got their match for Night of Champions and Hunter left the ring in fury.

3) Kevin Nash Powerbombs CM Punk

4 of 6

Punk was put up against The Miz Monday night, and at first I was confused as to why Miz wasn't coming to the ring with R-Truth. After a good match, Truth came running down to the rescue but Miz and Truth both still got beat up by Punk.

But then Nash came out and distracted Punk enough to let Miz take Punk down and beat him up. Nash then came down for the clean up and powerbombed Punk again.

I liked all of this except for the Miz and R-Truth stuff. After last week I expected these two to make a bigger impact together, and although they were successful in their mission this week, I hope that they can do more next week...or tomorrow for that matter.

2) John Cena and Sheamus Defeat Christian and Mark Henry

5 of 6

When John Cena first came into the ring and called out Alberto Del Rio, he got Mark Henry and Christian instead. As the two started to gang up on him, Sheamus came to the rescue and the main event of the night was declared as Cena and Sheamus against Henry and Christian.

The match was pretty good and it included Christian spearing Cena, Sheamus diving off the edge of the ring and shouldering Henry, and a finishing act of a Brogue Kick from Sheamus which went straight into an Attitude Adjustment from Cena.

Cena hit the pin as Mr. Fruity Pebbles and the Celtic Warrior took the victory.

1) CM Punk vs. Triple H

6 of 6

After the match ended, Triple H was shown backstage watching the end of the match as Punk arrived. Hunter went on to inform Punk that his match against Nash had been cancelled and he would be facing...Triple H himself instead.

I am not really sure what to think of this. I terribly want to see these two in the ring together, but I think it could have waited another month or two and I would have really liked to see Punk get some payback for the two powerbombs that Nash has dealt him.

Either way, it should be a great match and I am looking forward to Night of Champions. What do you think?

Here's to the idiotic daughter and the doofus son-in-law.
