UFC 134 Results: 3 Fights Stanislav Nedkov Should Be Given Next
And Stanislav Nedkov (12-0) remains undefeated in his professional MMA career.
Nedkov was bloodied up early in the first round against Luiz Cane (11-4 [1 NC]), but he was able to land a solid overhand right counter punch, and he hurt Cane badly.
From there, he followed Cane across the Octagon, and just teed off, finishing him off via TKO in the first round.
Nedkov could prove to be a major player in the UFC light heavyweight division, and here are five potential opponents for his next UFC fight.
Phil Davis
1 of 4The UFC seems to want to put Phil Davis (9-0) in big fights as soon as possible, but should they back down from that idea, Nedkov would be an interesting fight.
Both are undefeated in their careers, and it would be a striker vs. wrestler matchup, which could gauge the wrestling ability of Nedkov and the striking of Davis.
Davis is expected to face Lyoto Machida next, but should that change, this is a possibility.
Ryan Bader/ Jason Brilz Winner
2 of 4The winner of this fight would make a good matchup for Nedkov, as both are young, hungry fighters who need to get back on track.
Ryan Bader (12-2) is set to take on Jason Brilz (18-4-1) at UFC 139, and are both very similar to Nedkov.
This fight would surely be for a spot in the top 15 light heavyweights in the UFC and would probably put the winner 2-3 wins from a title shot.
Alexander Gustafsson
3 of 4Alexander Gustafsson (12-1) is in a very similar position as Nedkov.
Right now, Gustafsson is a fringe top 10 fighter, but a fight between these two would almost guarantee the winner a spot in the top 10.
Both are well-rounded fighters, being capable of knocking out and submitting their opponents, and if this fight is to happen, I'm making it an early fight of the night candidate.
