WWE and TNA: Awesome Thoughts on Matt Hardy, John Cena, Sin Cara and More!

Kevin GermanyJun 2, 2018

Welcome to my second edition of the Awesome Thoughts segment starring Matt Hardy, John Cena and Sin Cara.

My first edition of Awesome Thoughts can be viewed here. This article goes through more emotions than this promo.

Awesome Thoughts will now take you through the top stories in the world of professional wrestling.

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

Prepare to be electrified.

Matt Hardy

First and foremost, Matt Hardy needs help. Hardy can't turn his life around by himself.

The recent DUI arrest and subsequent firing from TNA should have been the first indicator that he needs help with substance abuse.

It is safe to say Hardy needs to go to some type of rehab facility.

Matt Hardy's suicide hoax was unacceptable to his fans. Hardy then issued a halfhearted apology, saying this was one of his "rebirths."

Are you kidding me? How many rebirths do you need Matt?

You are alienating your fans when you continue to pull your publicity stunts. People actually care about your life, Matt.

Matt Hardy needs to take a long look at the mirror to evaluate his life.

Fortunately, Hardy does have a support system in place.

John Cena

I will admit I don't like him.

But it is clear to everyone that John Cena has hogged all the spotlight. He has been involved in 11 consecutive pay-per-view main events.

You read that correctly, 11 consecutive pay-per-view main events for the giant bowl of Fruit Loops.

And we all say John Cena lacks an ego.

I am not saying to demote Cena to the mid-card. He sells way too much cherry-flavored merchandise to do that.

I won't run my mouth about how stale his character is. We all know how stale is gimmick is.

However, I do believe John Cena needs a temporary break from the WWE. John Cena needs some time off in between now and WrestleMania.

More importantly, a break should keep him fresh going in to his match with the Rock at WrestleMania.

Let Cena and Alberto Del Rio have their feud last until Hell in a Cell. Del Rio can write Cena off of TV for a while.

Cena comes back at Survivor Series to deal with the Rock. Team Bring It vs. Cenation would generate at least a million buys.

Cena takes another break from Survivor Series to Royal Rumble. At the Royal Rumble, he faces Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Championship in a last chance match.

The outcome of this match can be determined by whether WWE wants Cena vs. Rock to be for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania.

I do not think Rock vs. Cena should be for the title. But it doesn't matter what I think.

The only potential problem with taking Cena off of television is the lack of face challengers for Alberto Del Rio's title.

This problem is acute given CM Punk's feud with Triple H. I expect that feud to last until Survivor Series.

I would like to see John Morrison get a title shot at Vengeance or Survivor Series. He has shined when given the opportunity to headline pay-per-views.

Sheamus can briefly cross over to Raw to get a title shot as well.

An injury to Cena would jeopardize the biggest WrestleMania main event in a long time.

Furthermore, John Cena's promo on this Smackdown was terrible. It was very frustrating to see him open Smackdown with yet another stale promo.

He runs his idiotic mouth, trying to impress The Rock. Wade Barrett actually got some cheers when he interrupted Cena's promo.

In short, the giant tomato needs some time off to rejuvenate himself. Better yet, the fans can appreciate him more if he is taken off of our TV screens.

Sin Cara

When Sin Cara kicked Daniel Bryan in the head after their match on Smackdown, I was confused.

It makes no sense to turn Sin Cara heel at this point.

He sells way too much merchandise as a face to be a villain. Besides, the kids seem to love that character, regardless of who is playing it.

But there is definitely a bigger picture to this story. A simmering feud between two luchadores is the backstory behind this potential angle.

Completely disregard the rest of the section on Sin Cara if it turns out Mistico is fired from the WWE.

It would be a historically stupid move to turn a top merchandise seller like Sin Cara heel. It's not like we all want the top merchandise seller in the WWE to turn heel.

I will assume this is the planned feud until I hear anything about Mistico being fired.

Perhaps I am in the minority here, but I like the "old" Sin Cara over the "new" Sin Cara. I love the Lucha Libre style of wrestling.

Mistico is infinitely more athletic than Hunico. Hunico is a tad slower than Mistico but more technically proficient.

"El Principe de la Plata y Oro" is an exciting wrestler to watch.

His matches with Averno were fantastic. WWE even considered signing Averno to work with Mistico to ease his transition into the WWE.

Mistico was one of the biggest box office draws in Mexican history during his time with CMLL.

Hunico was an independent wrestler back in Mexico.

There is a huge difference between the Sin Caras in the eyes of Mexican fans.

Mistico facing Hunico is like John Cena facing Zack Ryder in CMLL.

Ironically, Hunico was formerly known as Mistico until CMLL trademarked the name Mistico. Hunico had to change his name to Mistico or Incognito because of the trademark.

Hunico has an actual beef with CMLL.

With all that said, fake Sin Cara's heel turn is obviously setting up a feud with the real Sin Cara.

We have seen feuds like this before.

For example, the "real" Undertaker (managed by Paul Bearer) had a match with the "fake" Undertaker (Brian Lee, managed by Ted Dibiase) in Summerslam 1994

Fake Kane (Luke Gallows) fought the real Kane in Vengeance 2006.

This Sin Cara feud should be a huge pay-per-view match at either Vengeance or Survivor Series.

This gives the "fake" Sin Cara time to establish his turn to the dark side.

Waiting until WrestleMania to have this match is a bad idea. Wrestling fans have the attention span of a hummingbird on Red Bull.

Can you imagine the promos to this feud? There will be more finger pointing than at a political rally.

They can have several matches during WWE's tour of Mexico in October.

Mistico and Hunico can put on a great match, as their styles compliment each other well.

Mistico needs an opponent who can not only speak Spanish but also can work with him. Hunico can do both of these things.

Better yet, Mistico and Hunico can communicate the match in Spanish, given WWE brings in a referee who can speak Spanish.

I expect them to have a series of matches culminating in some type of "loser must stop being Sin Cara" match.

Sorry, I can't think of anything else to call the stipulation to this match.

TNA Falsely Advertised Jeff Hardy's Return This Past Episode

I was awaiting Jeff Hardy's return to Impact Wrestling in Huntsville, AL.

Well, it turns out I have to wait another week to watch the Charismatic Enigma make his return.

Are you kidding me?

I was sure Jeff Hardy was going to return on September 1.

TNA, please don't do the "bait and switch" on your fans. It is very upsetting to me.

Conclusion

That was my second edition of Awesome Thoughts. I was going to say "pipe bomb," but I want to be original.

Wait, my "Awesome" surname is original, right?
