WWE Raw Results: August 22nd, 2011, the Good, the Bad, the Ugly

Justin WatryJun 7, 2018

I don't know what it is, but today has been a great day.

The weather was great here in Wisconsin, and so was Monday Night Raw.

Miz and Truth shined, while Bourne and Kofi won the tag straps, and I even have some future plans down for the winter.

All in all, a successful day is complete! With that said, I am here to review the best part of Raw, the worst part of Raw, and the "Is this TNA Impact?" part of Raw.

The Good

Text-Gate is the official term WWE is going with, so why not run with it? Text-Gate is still going strong, and I am loving it.

WWE needs to take their time spreading this storyline out a few months, and so far, so good.

The opening was great, setting up the main event for the night. The Nash and Triple H segment did its' job, and was much improved from last week's Nash and Punk verbal exchange.

Even the main event was fine. Nobody was expecting another 40 minute classic, but to set up the next PPV, it was great.

While the ending may have been predictable, with Johnny Ace "taking over" for Triple H as he went to check out Nash after his "car accident", I still loved it.

Kudos to WWE for keeping this main event mess entertaining!

The Bad

Dolph and Vickie are once again fighting with each other, while Swagger continues his up and down career. WWE needs to figure out where they are headed with these two (three?) and get there fast.

We do not need to see this outside interference garbage every week. Hey look! There was Alex Riley in the ring!!!

Ugh! Just a bad segment, with the U.S. title picture needing a major boost right now.

The Ugly

Alberto Del Rio vs. John Morrison was way too long.

Trust me—I am all for a good, long match on Raw, but Morrison is a glorified jobber, and Del Rio is the new WWE Champion!

No need for Morrison to be putting up a fight. Daniel Bryan putting up a fight (on Smackdown last week) was fine because WWE has put some effort as of late to make Bryan mean something.

Morrison came back from injury over a month ago and has won one match, while losing five others.

Again, it was a good match, but Morrison almost beating Del Rio? Come on...
