WWE: Is CM Punk Versus Kevin Nash Destined to Happen?
For what seems an eternity now, fans have been speculating on what is a true dream match in WWE.
CM Punk versus Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Punk’s gimmick is easy relatable, and meshes nicely against that of Austin. Considering the perceived heat that these two have had in the past, and the mutual respect that each man has for the other, this match is a very real, very big possibility. The match’s location is even bigger.

Wrestlemania 28.
Yes, an epic dream match to be sure.
But, suddenly we have been forced to shift our thought process to focus on an otherwise unthinkable match-up, the kind that none of us ever expected.
CM Punk versus Kevin Nash.
Is this match destined to happen? If so, will it be worth the price of admission?
The controversy surrounding the return of Nash to an on air role in WWE, much at the expense of Punk, is the kind of story that comes from out of nowhere. It’s one that we didn’t expect, and for that, WWE should be commended.
Far too often, we as fans are able to predict the possible outcome long before it materializes. Future feuds and matches seem almost transparent at times, and no matter how exciting the event may be, we are often left unimpressed by what we see.
Why? Because despite the staggering number of spoilers that are published week in and week out, a good portion of pro wrestling fans just want to be surprised. We just want to go along for the ride, and see where WWE takes us. We are more than happy to just enjoy the product and let it entertain us the way it was meant to.
In other words, we have no problem waiting. We’re patient, and for us, it’s worth it.
So, when Nash crossed the rail, entered the ring, and gave Punk the jackknife power bomb, we were shocked. We were shocked and we loved it. That’s what the business is all about.
Kudos to WWE for making that happen.
Now we’re left with the very real possibility that Nash versus Punk is going to happen. The question is, will it work?
Will this match do anything for either guy? Nash’s in ring career has been all but over since he left TNA, and his well-documented legacy is set in stone. No one can change that.
Punk, however, is still a work in progress. He is currently in the midst of his biggest run to date in WWE, and thus far, he is over in every aspect of his character. Working Nash, while possibly advancing the storyline, may not do much for him in his evolution at this point.
In addition, there’s the fact that Nash is not exactly in his prime anymore. Bringing in a veteran to sell tickets is TNA’s shtick.
All kidding aside, there is no denying Kevin Nash’s accomplishments in the business. He was part of the largest heel faction of all time, and helped revolutionize WCW. He is a legend.
And yes, it’s still early, anything can happen in this storyline. It’s too soon to predict when or if this match will happen, and how it will be received by fans.
As with every moment thus far in the CM Punk saga, no one seems to know quite how everything will play out. We are all in the dark, merely speculating as to what we think, and believe, about what we’re seeing. We have very few answers.
And, that suits me just fine.
