Is It Finally Time For Jeff Hardy To Grab The "Brass Ring" at Survivor Series?
Is it finally time for Jeff Hardy to get what has eluded him for so long?
With Jeff Hardy's addition to the WWE Championship match at Survivor Series, is it finally Jeff's time?
A few months ago I pitched an idea of a possible storyline for the WWE Championship starting with Cyber Sunday; a triple threat between Jeff Hardy, Triple H and Kozlov, with one of the stipulations being a "Loser Leaves The Brand" match. Think about the potential pop from the crowd that wants nothing more than Kozlov gone.
Everyone's going to assume that whoever wins (presumably Triple H) will pin Kozlov, and Smackdown fans can rejoice at him being gone from Smackdown. But if you want a curveball that the WWE could've thrown, how about this:
Triple H with a Pedigree to Kozlov. It looks like Triple H is about to retain, until, boom, Twist of Fate on Triple H, Swanton, cover. Jeff finally wins the belt, which fans would go nuts over. Triple H is gone from Smackdown, which fans would NEVER see coming. Next thing you know, to end the show you have Shane O' Mac come out and offer Triple H a contract back on Raw.
Think of the possibilities you could've had with that finish. For starters, Smackdown already has two HUGE babyfaces in Jeff Hardy and The Undertaker. On Raw, there's Cena (partially), and HBK. Batista isn't really over as a face, and then after that there's Orton, JBL, Jericho, basically a bunch of heels.

He can be more utilized on Raw. After all, Raw is lacking some good overall storylines lately, and Triple H doesnt need a belt to hold a good feud.
Want to give "Simply Priceless" some credibility? Picture the factions: DX and, dare I say it, new additions Cryme Tyme, against Orton, and Simply Priceless. Have HBK win the belt from Jericho, which would've made HBK fans go ecstatic, and now you have all the setups for a decent buildup to Wrestlemania.
Cryme Tyme going up against Priceless for tag titles, you could have Manu going after IC with Triple H constantly screwing him out of winning the belt, and Orton vs. HBK for the WWE Championship. It could even eventually be setup for a Triple H vs. HBK match for Wrestlemania for the title, following either a Triple H heel turn, or a "friend vs. friend" match at WM.
As far as Smackdown, the title would do wonders for Jeff Hardy. For starters, all the naysayers are silenced. The younger audience who idolizes Hardy would be happy to see him win the belt, and, even if it's a lie, the internet fans would breath a sigh of relief over Jeff finally winning a major title because, at the very least, it would convince them that he had to make some drastic changes outside the ring for the WWE to put the belt on someone who already has two strikes on them.
But look at the storylines. Who better to end Kozlov's undefeated streak than the resilient Jeff Hardy? What about Jeff vs. Undertaker again, where there's already some history. Jeff vs. MVP? Could get MVP some time in the light again for a change. Jeff vs. Edge? A lot of potential for some good matches. I could see Jeff holding to maybe No Way Out.
Give Edge the rumble win, have Taker win the belt from Jeff at the rumble, and have the setup for a triple threat TLC match at Wrestlemania. Edge-Taker was good. Jeff Hardy is insane in TLC matches. Think of the possibilities. Of course you could have Taker remain undefeated at WM, but think of the match. THAT'S a main event for Wrestlemania that people want to see.
The storyline I came up with wouldve worked, atleast in my opinion, but that option is gone now. The best thing the WWE can do right now is to give the belt to Hardy. Think of the possibilities.
