WWE Raw Report: August 15th, 2011: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

Justin WatryJun 7, 2018

I enjoyed tonight's Raw. I felt they had to keep the drama up from last night's SummerSlam, as well as the last few months of "worked shoots." WWE met my expectations tonight!

Kudos to everyone involved for keeping the ball rolling and not letting up one week since June. Each week something happens. Whether fans love it or hate it, SOMETHING happens on Raw, and that is all I ask.

The Good

Everything from the opening segment to the main event involving the WWE title and the "mystery text." All of it is so great that it leads to more questions than answers, while throwing out a hint here and there.

That is "WWE 101"—a million different theories, yet only one destination. Nash struggled a little bit in some of his "witty lines" to Punk, but outside of that, it was a good segment to plant even more seeds for the eventual reveal.

Same with the backstage segments, main event and the opener—great performances by every single person involved in that big ball of "cluster". Keep it up WWE!

The Bad

Morrison winning over Truth. Make no mistake, there is more money to be made with R-Truth over John right now, and even his biggest fans know it.

Since returning, Morrison has lost four (or five?) straight matches, and all pretty clean too. Truth has been doing a much better job in "staying over," so a loss here shouldn't mean too much, but I still did not like it.

Just a few weeks ago, I said Melina and Morrison were on their way out of the company. Well, Melina is gone, and now Morrison picks up his first win since his "big comeback?!?!" Okay, whatever. Do your thing Morrison, because I'm not buying it.

The Ugly

Alex Riley vs. Jack Swagger and the mess around the ring. This was just a very terrible segment to get through. Dolph and Vickie were on commentary, and they did a fine job for the first few minutes.

Then the insults starting flying, and before long, JR, Lawler and Cole were all just throwing insults around. Just no good. I have no problem with Cole playing a heel, but this was too much.

Inside the ring, Jack and Riley were just going through the motions, until the absolutely embarrassing ending. A "hat" distraction? Three botched gutwrench powerbomb attempts? Fail. Big fail!
