WWE SummerSlam 2011 Results and the BOOM of It All
Last night's Summer Slam was a fantastic pay-per-view, and there are several articles on Bleacher Report here that will go over all of the results, the what's going to happen next and all that good stuff.
My article brings you a bit more. I bring the BOOM.
The event opens with The Miz on the mic and this slowly turns into a great six man tag with Miz, Truth, and Del Rio versus Kofi, Morrison and Rey Mysterio.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
This match might have looked like a, "We don't know what to do with these guys," but it turned into an excellent display of their talents and skills in that ring.
The BOOM of the match
Kofi Kingston and his Storm Trooper trunks, nice. The Miz hits Kofi with a modified DDT that just looks ugly and drives Kofi's head into the mat.
We then have Kofi doing a two foot stomp down from the top rope on to Miz's chest that just looked crushing, there is no way that didn't hurt The Miz. Later in the match we have Kofi again jumping this time from the top rope to the outside onto the Miz delivering an incredibly difficult hit taking the Miz out.
The match even ended with a BOOM when Rey dove off the top rope with a flying head butt to R-Truth that just destroyed the man, and gave Rey the win.
After this match we have the announcement that Sheamus versus Mark Henry and if you didn't catch Booker T had one of his gems when he said, "If you can't get along...Just get it on."
That might be the next tattoo I get.
Sheamus and Henry put on a great match, the two brawlers just went at it and beat the heck out of one another, Henry won by a count out which means this feud is probably not over. There were lots of high lights of this match, but only several parts qualify for the BOOM of the match.
The BOOM
Mark Henry lays Sheamus on the middle rope as if he were going to deliver a 619 but instead goes for a running maneuver where he straddles Sheamus' head.
The move made it look as though the celtic's warrior's head was shoved clearly up the world's strongest man's back side (not the only time this would happen during the pay-per-view). The match did end in a count out like I said, but that count out was caused by a slam through the barrier wall.
The slam looked great, the reaction of the crowd at ringside however looked a little staged and over the top. One of the guys had both his hands over his mouth as if to say, "OH MY GOODNESS!"
The match ends and we get a performance of two songs by C-Lo Green, the first being the theme to Summer Slam, the second being C-Lo's hit Forget You, this was apparently done so some people watching could know who C-Lo was.
The Divas come out to dance back up for him but have no coreography whatsoever. Really girls, you couldn't learn a few steps?
After C-Lo is over we don't get back to the matches, no instead we get a commercial for the upcoming Jason Statham movie, anyone else think Statham will be making an appearance on Raw in the coming weeks?
Up next, Beth Phoenix versus Kelly Kelly. Now I must admit I think Kelly Kelly is awesome, no not the best wrestler, the other kind of awesome.
Regardless, I am from Buffalo NY, and if you're from Buffalo you root for Buffalo, so I was in Beth's corner. Kelly Kelly did pull out a win after she had gone crazy on Beth to get the pin.
The BOOM of the match
Beth at one point wipes her backside with Kelly Kelly's head (second butt attack), Cole describes Beth's outfit as a Roller Derby queen, and when Beth puts Kelly in a torture rack type maneuver, you can see the difference between her natural hair and the extensions she wears, the women in my house pointed this out.
Kelly gets a couple of BOOM moments when she goes crazy and starts slamming Beth's head over and over into the mat.
Before the next match we get a little back stage fun with R-Truth and The Mouth of the South, Jimmy Hart, have to say I saw the whole Lil Jimmy thing coming as soon as I saw Hart, this was followed up by a Twix commercial, apparently Vince wanted to sell more advertising time during the event.
They do a shout out to the National Guard when they come back from commercial but make no mention of famed actor Michael Clarke Duncan standing right behind them.
The next match at an early 9:30 p.m. is for the World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton versus Christian.
They start off the match with replaying Christian's comment from Friday where he says he's got the best thing coming into the match, I was hoping he'd actually say he has an Edge in the match because I called this on Friday, Edge shows up at Summer Slam to be with Christian.
Orton wins the match after a crazy fantastic match involving kendo sticks, tables, chairs and the steel steps.
The BOOM of the match
Edge does come out but he tells Christian he never thought he would see his friend turn into a "whiny bitch."
The match as stated contains numerous weapons and such but one of the best moves is when Orton delivers a suplex to Christian on to a table that isn't set up, and it just looks devastating.
The steel steps come into play into the match at one point where Orton delivers an Irish whip to Christian and he literally flips over the steps and onto the floor.
The final match of the night Cena vs. Punk for the Undisputed WWE title Punk wins the title only to lose it to Del Rio moments later after he receives a power bomb from Kevin Nash.
The BOOM of the match
Sadly not nearly as much BOOM as their should have been for the first half of this match, lots of head locks, arm bars and Cena trying to show the "you can't wrestle" chanting crowd that he knows more than his Five Moves of DOOM.
Punk did deliver some fantastic karate chops to Cena's mid section which picked up their pace.
The match then turned into an exchange of submissions moves, Punk's crazy submission starts it off which Cena reverses into an STF, which Punk turns into an Anaconda Vice (personal favorite), but Cena turns that into a Cross Face and Punk gets to the ropes to break the sequence.
We then get an exchange of shoulder moves, as Punk and Cena's finishers both start with putting their opponent up on their shoulders.
As I write this I'm watching Monday Night Raw and the Del Rio Mysterio match is on right now, I'm guessing Mysterio wins setting up everyone making a claim to a rematch for Night of Champions, lets see what sort of BOOM comes with that.
John Kindelan is also on The BOOM Page and writer of the ongoing fictional blog Mr. 100 days check him out today.
