Two men entered the ring with the WWE title in their hands.
One left, and then another one claimed the title for himself.
In the span of three minutes, the WWE was turned on its ear with the crowning of Alberto Del Rio as the new WWE Champion.

In doing so, he opened a can of whoop-ass that not even Stone Cold could contain.
On a night featuring great matches across the board, including the crowning of a new world champion in Randy Orton and Edge turning his back on Christian, CM Punk beat John Cena for the undisputed WWE Title.
He was then attacked by Kevin Nash, who came out of the crowd to help Del Rio finally claim the title he had claimed had been his for so long.
Now, with the emergence of Nash, who was rumored to want to get back involved in WWE, it puts a great new wrinkle in all this commotion.
Del Rio is champion, but he technically did not wrestle Punk.
Last week, it was Punk who beat Del Rio. For some reason, I did not see this coming.
I thought for sure it would be Cena winning and Del Rio attacking him and claiming his prize.
Punk won the first battle with Del Rio, Del Rio won the war with Punk.
What is the connection between Punk and Nash?
What was the payoff between Del Rio and Nash?
Where does Triple H fit in this rift?
As we recall last week, Triple H told Cena he would do what he thought was best for the belt and the company.
Obviously, he thought Del Rio as champion offered a better set of matches with more competitors.
Actually, I am in favor of that.
It also means there may be a connection between Cena and Punk—two kindred spirits who now have a beef with the boss. Although Triple H looked shocked when Nash hit the ring, he could have an enforcer to even the playing field.
It sets up brilliantly.
And for some reason, with Nash involved in WWE again, I see a “clique” of Nash, Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
Could X-Pac be coming back? Could we see others?
Wow, this just opened up more cans of worms.
The title has been in Del Rio’s hands less than an hour, and there are questions about status.
What about The Miz and R-Truth? Where does Rey Mysterio fit into all this, since he lost to Cena and never got a title rematch?
There are now more contenders and more available story lines.
The WWE had to have Punk win this match to begin with.
He needs to ride momentum, and he got that.
Now that he will claim he was “screwed” by the boss and his friends. He has no qualm with Cena about this, because it was Del Rio who cashed in.
I can’t wait until RAW to see what happens in the aftermath.
