Cardinals vs. Raiders: 4 Raiders Who Stood out in Thursday's Preseason Game
The Oakland Raiders lost their preseason debut against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night.
But, despite coming up short in their 24-18 loss, there were some encouraging signs.
The offense did alright for their first game action of the year and the defense had some nice plays.
Here are four individual players who stood out in the loss.
4. Sebastian Janikowski, K
1 of 4Janikowski showed off his prized left leg in Thursday night's game.
The kicker went 4-for-4 on field goals.
The highlight of his night was a booming 57-yard field goal, showing he still has plenty of range.
The Oakland field-goal game will be solid once again in 2011.
3. Denarius Moore, WR
2 of 4Moore, a rookie WR from Tennessee, looked really sharp against the Cardinals on Thursday.
He caught three passes for 37 yards in limited action.
If he can develop into a reliable receiver, that will be great for the Raiders.
Darrius Heyward-Bey hasn't panned out so far, so having Moore succeed early would be a big boost to their offense.
2. Michael Bennett, RB
3 of 4Bennett was the most impressive of the Raiders running backs on Thursday night.
The veteran RB ran for 40 yards on nine carries and added one catch for eight yards.
He's a good option as a third-down running back.
The versatile Bennett should continue to get plenty of opportunities in the Oakland offense.
1. Trent Edwards, QB
4 of 4I never thought I'd write this, but Trent Edwards actually looked pretty good under center on Thursday night.
The former Buffalo Bills' flop went 10-for-19 for 140 yards and a touchdown.
It wasn't a fantastic performance, but it should be enough to give him a slight lead over Kyle Boller for the No. 2 QB position.
We'll have to watch Boller and Edwards battle it out this preseason for the right to be Jason Campbell's backup.
