WWE Superstars Preview: August 11th, 2011 and TNA Impact Wrestling Preview

Justin WatryJun 7, 2018

This is more of a test than anything for wrestling fans out there. Does anyone care about Superstars still? I could understand while it was on WGN, but now...2011...anyone? ANYONE?!?!

For those interested in the lineup for WWE tonight, here it is:

Brodus Clay vs. a local Talent

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

Ted DiBiase vs. Trent Baretta

Alicia Fox vs. Tamina

WWE Tag Team Title Match: David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty © vs. Santino Marella and Evan Bourne

See? On paper, it looks fine. Nothing too bad, yet nothing really to get me to log onto WWE.com in a few hours and watch it from start to finish.

Brodus is on his way back, so it looks like he is gonna squash some jobbers for a while. Ted and Trent are both talented guys, but nowhere near over enough to make them vital characters on RAW/SmackDown each week.

The women get their spot on Superstars each and every week and to be honest, from what I have seen, they usually get a decent amount of time and do a great job. With Tamina and Fox in there, it should probably end up being a fine match.

The main event just look like filler, with no reason to care. Santino needs to be on TV with that Cobra Puppet he is trying to sell, and Bourne needs to find something to do. I am sure David and Michael will win, which is good because they have been stringing some wins together lately, and they are the tag team champions.

It makes you wonder how serious Triple H will be with the tag division going forward...however, that is a different topic for a different day. Enjoy Superstars!

Onto TNA Impact Wrestling (ugh). I'd not even care to look up and post the matches/segment taped for tonight. It will likely feature an Immortal promo opening the show for the 15th week in a row and/or more Anderson/Angle/Sting jaw jacking leading to nothing.

I am sure a ton of BFG Series matches will take place. Man, that gimmick has completely been shot in the foot. Such a good concept, and they go and "TNA it." So sad...

Outside of that, nothing really intrigues me about TNA tonight. With NFL on tonight (preseason), that is where my attention will be, but I am sure I will channel surf every now and then. Enjoy Impact Wrestling!
