Philadelphia Eagles Sign Steve Smith

Justin SparksJun 7, 2018

The most active team in the NFL has struck once again. Just when you think that the Philadelphia Eagles have settled down and have made all the moves they desired to make in the market, they get someone else.

According to Adam Schefter, and the philadelphiaeagles.com-run Twitter account, the Philadelphia Eagles have come to terms with former New York Giants wide receiver Steve Smith.

"

"Eagles agree to terms with former Giants Pro Bowl WR Steve Smith on a one-year contract," Schefter posted at 6:51 p.m. EST.

After passing on the opportunity to acquire Plaxico Burress and eluding the rumors of Randy Moss, the Philadelphia Eagles have solidified their receiving core, which already includes wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson.

The addition of Steve Smith to Philadelphia comes as a shock. Less than two months ago when Lesean McCoy and Osi Umenyiora had their spat over some a statement McCoy made on twitter, Steve Smith chimed in to back up his now former teammate for the New York Giants. Steve Smith photoshopped the Philadelphia Eagles logo onto an empty trophy case.

Looks like he has switched sides and jumped on to the ever growing bandwagon. All will be forgiven, not forgotten because this is Philadelphia we're talking about, and Steve Smith will be a welcomed addition in Philadelphia.
