There is no way Brett Favre would ever come back to play in the NFL….
Right?
Well, even if he wanted to, there is no team out there crazy enough to bring him back out of retirement…

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Right?
Unfortunately friends, I have a bad feeling that we may end up seeing Brett Favre wearing an NFL jersey before the season is out. I believe wholeheartedly that injuries will indeed drag Brett Favre out of retirement, but I am being completely sarcastic about the “dragging” part.
I can all but guarantee you that Favre will be literally sitting by his phone for the first half of the 2011 NFL season, just waiting for a team to need him. He’s going to be watching every SportsCenter, following every tweet and keeping his eyes glued to every breaking news update.
Do you know what Brett Favre will be watching for?
One word: Injuries
I’m not saying that Favre will be sitting there hoping for any of his football brethren to get seriously hurt, but I am saying that he will be sitting here hoping for any sort of opportunity to arise.
What happens when a team loses their starting quarterback? Will they have enough trust in their backup, or will Favre instantly become an intriguing option?
You know that Favre will be hitting the high school field staying limber. He’s going to be keeping himself in “game shape” and staying in communication with his friends in the NFL. Favre is going to be waiting on the opportunity to find a good excuse to come back to the NFL. Eventually, as much as this pains me to say it, some team is going to need him.
For instance, let’s look at the Washington Redskins.
Quarterback John Beck is banged up right now, and I’m not sure how many people are feeling good about Rex Grossman as a starter.
Let’s just pretend that Beck looked great during the first half of the year and had the Redskins within earshot of a potential Wild Card berth. Would Favre be the guy to come in and take them the rest of the way?
I’m not sure if he’s the answer. Actually, I’m pretty certain that he won’t be the answer.
I also don’t think the Redskins have a shot of even sniffing the playoffs, but that’s a completely different article.
That being said, I guarantee you that Favre can and will get a desperate team to believe that he will be the solution. He can weasel and worm his way into getting some poor GM to buy into the fact that he’s the guy who can salvage their season.
It’s a scary thought.
Do you think I’m absolutely crazy? Do you think that there is no way this could ever be possible?
Check out what Peter King of Sports Illustrated thinks in his Monday Morning Quarterback column:
"I think, from what I'm hearing (not from the horse's mouth, but from someone who would know), Brett Favre is being slightly tempted about playing football again. When I say slightly, I mean slightly. I don't think any team is going to come after him now, and I don't think he's going to pursue anything. But I do think if a starter gets hurt or stinks, and the coach has no faith in the backup, Favre is going to get a call. Depending on the team, he might consider returning.
"
This is going to be a possibility folks. To be honest, I think it’s going to end up being a reality.
Soon, the bright lights are going to turn on, the crowds are going to pack the stadium and the NFL is going to kick into full gear.
Brett Favre is a shark for attention. If he can sniff it out, no matter how small it is, he is going to get it.
The rumors have already started, which means that blood is in the water.
It’s only a matter of time now…
