Chad Ochocinco Coming on Strong in New England Patriots Camp

Tony SantorsaJun 4, 2018

After a rather inconsistent and shaky start to Chad Ochocinco's career as a New England Patriot, it appears that he has finally settled down and is fitting in nicely in New England's offense.

Ochocinco was spotted dropping several passes during the first few days of training camp as a Patriot, but now has been "cured of his drops" and is regularly putting on a show for the nearly 10,000 fans in attendance daily for the team's training camp.

Whenever a player joins a new team, it means that he has to learn an entirely new system and scheme and is almost put in a crash course from the get-go—Ochocinco has finally adjusted to New England's offense and is starting to get into a groove with quarterback Tom Brady

Entering 2011, I actually see Ochocinco being a difference maker for the Patriots as he's exactly what the offense was lacking: a well-rounded wide receiver that offers a wide variety of skills.

Ochocinco will definitely not put up numbers similar to what Randy Moss did back in 2007, but I am expecting big things out of the big personality wide receiver.

Last season for the Bengals, Ochocinco snagged 67 balls for 831 yards and four touchdowns while playing in only 14 games—in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't duplicate those numbers in 2011 as a member of the Patriots.

New England opens up their first preseason game this Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Gillette Stadium and fans will finally get to see Ochocinco sporting New England's No. 85 along with the rest of the newly acquired Patriots this offseason.
