WWE Raw Review: August 8th, 2011: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

Well, just a few seconds ago the final WWE Raw telecast before Summerslam went off the show. How did it go? Honestly, it was another mixed bag to me, more so on the negative side sadly.

As positive as I try to be, I call it like I see, and tonight was not the "home run" I expected. More like a double...let's jump into it!

The Good - Punk/Cena/Triple H. I am not sure how Triple H will factor into the finish. Will he be fair? Will he help Cena? Will he favor Punk perhaps? 

Maybe even Johnny Ace will make another PPV appearance during the main event? I even enjoyed the contract signing at the close of the show. Punk saying Masters has improved a great deal the past year or so is 100 percent true. 

The Rock tease was very nice. Cena calling out all the "haters" was great. "Those" people really need to get off the "Cena heel turn/can't wrestle/etc." bandwagon. 

All these questions surrounding the WWE title will be answered, and yes - tune in Sunday to find out what goes down!

The Bad - PPV hype. I touched on this last week too! We are six days away from SUMMERSLAM! Why was Riley/Dolph tonight?

I know Vickie looks good nowadays, but put that on Sunday. Morrison vs. Truth? Save it for the PPV. I was shocked Miz vs Rey was about to take place, but with the sneak attack I suppose that will be added to Summerslam on Sunday.

The Ugly - "Internet favorites" being released? Morrison loses again. Uh oh! First, I called Melina being yanked off of TV, and then I suggested Morrison (her boyfriend) could be right alongside her on the unemployment line. I was called every insult in the book....now?

Well, it certainly does not look good for Old Johnny Boy. Speaking of, where was Zack Ryder? Well, Zeke squashed him on Friday...this week? Nowhere on Raw that's for sure. He couldn't even get Superstars jobber duty. Be on the lookout at WWE.com for future firings? 

The point of all of this? Basically, it is not to get too wrapped into new found "pushes". A nice long sustained push may mean something. Zack and Morrison? Nowhere near that level yet. One returned and lost match after match since then. The other is an internet "sensation". 

Final point - give these things time, all things take time for young guys looking to break through...assuming they stay with WWE...
