Eagle Has Landed, DeSean Jackson Arrives in Philadelphia

Justin SparksJun 1, 2018

Michael Vick stated over the weekend at the Philadelphia Eagles training camp in Lehigh, Pennsylvania that the 24 years old holdout would be showing his face in Philadelphia this week.

"

"I don't know the details. I just know he'll be here."

"

Those statements by the Eagles starting quarterback have been legitimized Sunday night as Pro Bowl wide receiver DeSean Jackson arrived in Philadelphia Sunday night accompanied by his agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Adam Schefter, the consummate NFL source from ESPN, amongst several other reports, has tweeted about Jackson's arrival.

"

"Eagles WR DeSean Jackson arrived at Philadelphia International Airport at about 8 p.m. on Sunday night, accompanied by Drew Rosenhaus."

"

This move by Jackson and his camp will prove to be a smart one due to the Philadelphia Eagles having an extensive history of not negotiating with holdouts outside of the NovaCare Complex.

Jeffrey Lurie, at his annual state of the team address, spoke about how the team's front office wanted to get a deal done with Jackson in the near future.

" "I'm not going to talk publicly about any of the dealings with him, but it's all positive, and we look forward to DeSean being here and working things out in a great way going forward...""

The arrival of Jackson all but eliminates the possibility of him holding out for the entire season, but that does not mean a deal will be struck Monday or Tuesday of this week.

Although Jackson's arrival has shown a willingness to meet with the Andy Reid, Joe Banner, and Howie Roseman on his end, there will surely be a back and forth between the two parties before a contract is agreed upon.

However, do not breathe a sigh of relief just yet Eagles fans. DeSean Jackson may have landed in the city of brotherly love, but there remains a lot of things to be done before he sees the field. Terrell Owens, the last wide receiver to hold out of camp under the tutelage of Drew Rosenhaus, conducted a one man media circus in his front yard.

Hopefully, this time around there will be nothing but love between the two sides after all the contract negotiations take place rather than lost love.
