The Undertaker: The 6 Best Matches of His Career

Robert KnightJun 7, 2018

Everyone knows The Undertakers name. Wrestling fan or not, chances are people have seen a match of his and knows just how incredible of a in ring performer he truly is.

His WrestleMania record of 19-0 speaks for itself and a list of his best Wrestlemania matches could be made into a list. (Potential foreshadowing?)

While there will be some of his Wrestlemania matches on this list, there were many of his matches that are instant classics and can strike up a conversation to this day.

For some reason, this dead man never really let us down. When he walked into the ring, he delivered and few have followed in his foot steps.

There will never be another one like him.

With all of that said, let us all take a look at his top six matches in his career.

#6: Undertaker vs. Undertaker SummerSlam 1994

1 of 7

This match is on here because it determined who the "real" Undertaker was.

It depicted Paul Bearer's Undertaker vs. Ted Dibiase's Undertaker.

That match itself was alright in my opinion.

It was slow, it had its moments and solved once and for all who the true Undertaker was.

#5: Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels Hell in a Cell Bad Blood

2 of 7

This match is one of the best ones he has ever wrestled.

It showcased the Hell in the Cell cage and how brutal it truly was.

This was also the match that showed the debut character of Kane, his younger brother.

That launched a historical story line of its own.

#4: Undertaker vs. Kane Inferno Match Unforgiven 1998

3 of 7

This was the first Inferno match ever done in wrestling.

In case you never heard of it, they surround the ring with flames and you are trapped in there.

Whoever sets their opponent on fire first, wins.

Undertaker and Kane had two of these matches in their careers with Taker winning both.

This is regarded by some wrestling fans as his best match, but I put it No. 4 on my list.

#3: Undertaker vs. Kane WrestleMania 14

4 of 7

This is one of the most legendary WrestleMania matches ever, let alone from Undertaker's career.

The story line was far from over but they put on a contest that is still talked about when it comes to both Kane and Undertaker.

It was a tough contest that took three tombstones to put away Kane.

THREE of them.

A match that puts people on the edge of their seats, it is still one of the few matches that stands out in his career.

#2: Undertaker vs. Mankind Hell in the Cell King of the Ring 1998

5 of 7

Do I really need to go into detail about this match?

Foley getting thrown off the cell into the Spanish announcer is the thing that comes to mind when I even think Hell In The Cell.

It has been debated as to whether or not Undertaker was supposed to do that.

It was supposed to be the end of that match.

It wasn't.

After that, Foley got off the cart, climbed the cell again and Undertaker went to work. He put through the cell again and later thumbtacks. Not to mention that is just a snippet of what was done.

If you haven't seen this match, click the video and witness one of the greatest matches in wrestling history.

#1: Undertaker vs. Shawn Micheals WrestleMania XXV

6 of 7

Everyone knows what this match is and the buildup to it. They had a second one of these matches at the next year's WrestleMania, but I am picking this one because it was their first.

Shawn Micheals said the only thing he needed to do in his career was to beat Undertaker and take his streak away.

Undertaker admitted to him that Michaels was the best in-ring performer ever in the WWE but he will never come close to ending it.

This match was hyped up as much as you can imagine and it delivered with no empty feelings or disappointment.

Others will argue that all because this was a great match, he has had better ones. In my eyes, that is not true.

The top two greatest WWE stars on the biggest stage of WWE going at it and proving they both still have the magic left in them.

I cannot think of anything better than that.

Thanks for Reading!

It has been a pleasure to put together this list and I know people will pick this list apart with his other matches out there.

I implore you to tell what your thoughts on my list are, what you believe should have been on it and why.

Check my other articles and comment on those as well.

I will leave you with this hilarious but relevant interview.

Peace! =D
