Pro Wrestling and the IWC: Can Someone Please Tell Me What the IWC Is?
Will someone please tell me what in the blue hell the IWC is?
Ever since I've started to voice my opinion of professional wrestling here on the Bleacher Report, I've been labeled as a part of it. Well, what is it? Do I have to be a part of it? Are there any membership perks?
I hear and read about it all the time, but there is no dictionary definition for me to go by. I tried to look it up on the Google machine and this is what i found:

IWC = International Whaling Community... well that doesn't make any sense; I've never seen a live whale.
IWC = International Watch Company (A watch company based out of Switzerland)... that can't be what everyone is talking about.
IWC = International Wrestling Cartel?? Sounds promising, but upon further review this is definitely not it.
... This is stupid. Could someone please tell me what it stands for!!
A man rocking a CM Punk shirt, Zach Ryder headband, and Dolph Ziggler foam finger eagerly raises his hand, the answer flying out of his mouth.
"uh, Mr. Gullo, hi, the IWC stands for Internet Wrestling Community, it's a community that takes place online where wrestling lovers can get together and talk about shows, favorite wrestlers, fantasy book, preview upcoming pay-per-views, and pretty much romanticize professional wrestling...etc. "
Well, that certainly sounds like a lot of fun. Sign me up!
But wait a minute! that's not what Urbandictionary.com says...
"The "IWC" is basically a group of Pro Wrestling "Smark" fans that spend the majority of their life in Message boards or Wrestling chat rooms. They usually tend to argue with women and children (extremely pathetic in nature) and pose an arrogant attitude.
People of the "IWC" are generally social rejects who tend to fit extremely well with the typical suburban high school geek or misfit. However, the ones who are much older will tend to have facial hair, and appear ungroomed.
"
... I don't think that's me; Who would admit to being that?
I have my favorite wrestlers:
The Rock, CM Punk, John Cena, HHH, Chris Jericho, Sheamus, Cody Rhodes, and I've enjoyed every match Mick Foley has ever been a part of, but what's that have to do with anything? Don't we all have our favorite wrestlers? As a supposed member of the IWC, can I like both CM Punk and John Cena?
Who do I consult on these matters? Is there a President of the IWC?
This doesn't make any sense...
I think we can all agree that before CM Punk shot off at the mouth in late June that things were getting a little stale. Complaints were deemed worthy. Things are considerably better now, but does that mean people still can't use the platform they have and proclaim their god-given opinion?
For Example:
I recently wrote a humor-laden article on how I thought CM Punk should not have changed his theme music. A simple opinion wrapped in extreme sarcasm on something that really doesn't have any consequence to anybody. It was meant simply to be an entertaining read, and voice my opinion.
People chose to read the article, and some instantly labeled me, angrily I might add, as part of the IWC for "finding something to complain about."
Do we all really take professional wrestling this seriously?
The WWE doesn't. It constantly goes out of its way to not take itself too seriously, and that's where it gets its charm from. If they don't, then why should we?
Whenever I log onto Bleacher Report I crave and seek the original, well-written, and opinionated articles on professional wrestling.I could care less if you hate John Cena, think CM Punk is god, are a huge John Morrison fan, think Dolph Ziggler is the Macho Man of our time, think WWE is constantly dropping the ball, or you own every color of the John Cena collection... if it's well written, makes a statement, and voices your true opinion, then you have my attention and praise.
We do not all have to agree...
Question: How does one voice their opinion without being labeled?
Answer: They don't...ever since the dawn of society, people have been grouped, stereotyped, and measured and compared alongside their peers. I have accepted this reality.
And who gave the IWC its "definition" in the first place? Why is it a bad thing?
If someone complains about the "IWC," then what group does that make them a part of? Are they just as despised as the IWC?
I'm gonna give myself a headache if I think about this any more...
You know what? I'm starting my own acronym... The WWAS.
The Well Written Articles Society.
WWAS Mission Statement
The WWAS is a group of writers that write well written, opinionated articles on their love and hate for all things professional wrestling. Just like Planet Fitness, this will incorporate a "Judgment Free Zone."
The WWAS encourages writers to bash and/or praise the WWE, TNA, and ROH all they want. Members will face well constructed feedback in the form of positive and negative comments, but will never be condemned and labeled for them. We here at WWAS feel that individual opinions matter whether we agree or not.
The WWAS was formed in order to rid professional wrestling of the "IWC" stigma, and in turn offer peaceful resolution to wrestling-based communities around the world.
Just produce a well-written article, mention your allegiance to the WWAS, make good argument and you're in. It's simple.
I'm hoping this catches on like that thing people are doing now where they lie straight and rigid in different locations... planking, is it?
The Internet is a fickle place. Where your opinion doesn't really matter unless people agree with you. Maybe one day we can all build a bridge across the great divide that separates the IWC and professional wrestling.
Believe it or not, we are all a part of the "IWC." Some people are just more opinionated then others... should they be "punished for that".
For what it's worth, I leave you with this...Feel free to fill this out for yourself, and see where you will be judged.
"IWC?" Member Resume

State of WWE: Was incredibly boring, but has captured my attention and heart again.

Who is better, Cena or Punk: I think Cena is really good, but to cartoonish for my liking. So Punk.
Do you think you are a member of the IWC? Not really, but if I am, then so be it.
