WWE: Ranking the Careers of the Top 25 Active Wrestlers

Jonathan BachJun 7, 2018

WWE releases a Power 25 rankings list each week for the top 25 superstars at the moment.

I wanted to create a list of the top 25 current superstars based on their entire career.

This list will be made up of both Superstars and Divas from Raw and SmackDown. I strongly considered WWE's Power 25 Rankings from the past few months to create a Top 25 superstars list and then arrange it based on their careers.

Not much more to say here.

I would love to hear some suggestions about where superstars should be ranked.

Enjoy!

25. Kelly Kelly

1 of 25

There's not much to say about Kelly Kelly. She deserves to be in the top 25.

Not to mention she is the current WWE Divas Champion.

We have to remember that this is a list ranking Superstars and Divas' entire careers. Kelly Kelly has a long way to go before we give her anything higher than the No. 25 spot.

24. Alex Riley

2 of 25

Alex Riley began his career in WWE on NXT and then teaming up with The Miz.

Now his career has begun to skyrocket.

It looks like he wants a piece of the United States Champion Dolph Ziggler.

Some are going to ask why he's ahead of Kelly Kelly, as Riley has never won a title.

And my answer is,because he's made more of an impact. He was a part of the main event at WrestleMania and even though he wasn't in the match, he was there.

Oh, and he has a win against two world champions, Jack Swagger and The Miz.

23. Drew McIntyre

3 of 25

He's the Chosen One. He's supposed to be the next top star in WWE.

McIntyre just hasn't done a lot in his career so far.

I almost didn't want to put him in the top 25. But I ran out of good superstars so I had to throw him in there.

McIntyre is a former Intercontinental Champion and is a former WWE Tag Team Champion with Cody Rhodes.

He does have some notable wins, though, against Kane and John Morrison.

So for now, I'm ok with this spot for him.

22. Daniel Bryan

4 of 25

Daniel Bryan has done a lot over the past few weeks to impress everyone.

He has a Money in the Bank victory and can now cash in the briefcase whenever he wants for a World Heavyweight Championship match.

Bryan has a lot of experience on the Indy level and while I wanted to take that into account with his ranking, I decided to only judge based on his career in WWE.

He was a former United States Champion and had one of the most patriotic theme songs WWE has ever had.

Daniel Bryan will be at the top very soon.

21. Ezekiel Jackson

5 of 25

Ezekiel Jackson has done more than people give him credit for.

He was a force in ECW(WWE) and won the ECW Championship on it's last night.

Then he joined the Corre with Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater. They were a force for a little bit.

After they split, Ezekiel would go on to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship from Wade Barrett, a superstar who led the Nexus and has been a main event participant before.

You can't deny that he belongs in this spot. I thought he deserved to be ahead of the next guy, but a lot would disagree and numbers disagree too.

20. Cody Rhodes

6 of 25

Cody Rhodes has made a nice career for himself in WWE.

He was a tag team champion with Hardcore Holly when he first debuted in WWE.

Now we have to think back all the way to when he was in Legacy with Ted DiaBiase and Randy Orton. Orton was still a top superstar even then while Legacy helped him along the way.

There, Rhodes was a multiple tag team champion.

After Legacy split, he teamed with Drew McIntyre and won another Tag Team title.

Once he finally got into singles' competition, he feuded with superstars like Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara and Daniel Bryan.

Rhodes has a long career ahead of him, but for now he will remain at No. 20.

19. John Morrison

7 of 25

John Morrison is going to be a top guy some day, but injuries have always plagued him.

When he isn't injured, Morrison is someone that you want to watch.

He is a former Intercontinental Champion and has won multiple Tag Team championships with Joey Mercury and The Miz. Morrison has also competed for the WWE Championship before.

He will eventually be a top guy and has had a nice career so far.

18. Beth Phoenix

8 of 25

Beth Phoenix is the only person that is going to be able to put up a fight when Kharma returns to WWE.

She is one of the most dominant Divas we have ever seen in WWE and is the highest ranked Diva on this list.

Phoenix is a multi-WWE Women's champion and is now in line to face Kelly Kelly for the Divas' title.

She has also been seen with Santino Marella on TV forming Glamerella.

Beth Phoenix will reach her full potential once some real competition shows up.

17. Alberto Del Rio

9 of 25

I could not put this guy any higher than this spot. He does not have any title reigns in WWE.

But Del Rio does have a victories at both Money in the Back and in a Royal Rumble.

He should be facing John Cena or CM Punk after SummerSlam and I expect him to capture his first piece of gold, although i didn't think WWE would allow his first title reign to be a major title.

Del Rio has feuded with Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston and the Big Show. Oh, and he has an MMA background as well.

You can watch him get knocked out by Mirko Cro Cop here. (via Youtube)

16. Wade Barrett

10 of 25

Wade Barrett started something special in the WWE.

After winning the first season of NXT, he came onto Raw with the rest of the NXT rookies and assaulted not only John Cena, but everyone in sight.

Thus, the Nexus was born.

Barrett would lead this faction for the next few months, destroying everything in it's path, which lead to having his first WWE Championship match against John Cena.

He was booted from Nexus after CM Punk took over and formed the Corre with Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel.

Soon after, he would captured the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Wade Barrett was mentored by Chris Jericho in NXT, so you know he's bound to be special.

15. Kofi Kingston

11 of 25

Here's his stats:

Three-time Intercontinental Champion

Two-time United States Champion

One-time Tag Team Champion with CM Punk (?????????)

That's a great career so far.

He has a lot of notable wins, including a recent win over Alberto Del Rio. He has defeated Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton and Kane.

Kofi is a young star who has a lot of potential. With his accolades, he will be WWE Champion one day.

14. R-Truth

12 of 25

He may not have all the accolades of Kofi Kingston, nor all the attention that Wade Barrett drew with the Nexus, but R-Truth has had an awesome career.

He has challenged for the WWE Championship on numerous occasions while also having wins over John Cena, The Miz and Randy Orton, all of whom have been WWE Champion.

He has been entertaining us for the past few years with his "What's up" gimmick and more recently his "Conspiracy" gimmick.

R-Truth has turned himself into a main event superstar.

13. Dolph Ziggler

13 of 25

This is the lowest ranked former World Heavyweight Champion on this list.

Ziggler is a former Intercontinental and United States Champion, but there's a reason he isn't higher than this.

He hasn't done much after winning the Intercontinental title. Actually he hasn't done much since he winning (or was awarded) the World Heavyweight Championship.

The World Heavyweight title keeps Ziggler at the midway point of this list, but that's all I'm giving him.

12. Mark Henry

14 of 25

This guy does not have a major WWE title under his belt.

Henry has been around for quite some time and has had a long and storied career. He is also a former ECW champion.

He may not have won every single match but Henry has made an impact fighting against guys like John Cena, Undertaker and Randy Orton.

He deserves a major title and will hopefully get it by the end of this year.

Mark Henry only has a little bit of time left, but he will make it count.

11. Jack Swagger

15 of 25

Jack Swagger hasn't had a stellar 2011 so far. But he is a former World Heavyweight champion.

He has frequently had matches against Evan Bourne over the past few months which bring his stock down a bit, but in his career he has fought the very best and won some of those bouts.

Swagger is a former Mr. Money In the Bank. He was also an ECW champion.

While some may disagree that he has had a better career than Mark Henry, I think Swagger has already matched Henry's career and is a much better superstar than him too.

10. Big Show

16 of 25

Big Show was a monster.

When he first came into WWE he couldn't be stopped and has been a force in the WWE ever since.

Big Show has had an up-and-down career, but he is a World Champion and has held multiple WWE Tag Team Championships.

He has been up there with the big boys, going against wrestlers from the "Attitude Era" and has wins over The Rock, Stone Cold and Triple H.

No explanation really necessary as to why his career ranks No. 10.

9. Sheamus

17 of 25

Sheamus hasn't been around for long, but he has had such a huge impact.

He is a multi-WWE Champion and that means he has numerous wins over WWE's poster boy John Cena.

That is something rare.

Sheamus has also been the United States champion. His career has been great since that beginning and has done things that some guys will never get the chance to do.

His career has been outstanding so far, but we haven't even seen it all yet.

8. CM Punk

18 of 25

Yeah, he's No. 8.

CM Punk has had a great career and has deemed himself the "Best in the World".

And he's been pretty good.

He has held both the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship while also is a two-time Money in the Bank winner.

Enough said.

CM Punk has also started the change in heart that WWE has been having lately and cut the most memorable promo that people have seen in a really long time.

7. The Miz

19 of 25

The Miz has come a long way from where he started in the WWE with Tough Enough.

He went from a backstage guy to WWE Champion.

Some may say that The Miz has actually been WWE's poster boy and not John Cena.

The Miz has done a lot of late night shows and has been the person promoting events, not John Cena.

The Miz has held every title WWE has right now, except for the World Heavyweight title, but only because he has never been on the SmackDown brand (well he was but not for long and way before his big push).

6. Rey Mysterio

20 of 25

The biggest little guy in the WWE has had an amazing career.

He wrestled for WCW and came over to WWE later on in his career. In WWE, he skyrocketed to the top.

Mysterio has feuded with guys like Eddie Guerrero, Alberto Del Rio and John Cena. He has been victorious for the most part as well.

He is a multi-World Heavyweight Champion, multi-Tag Team champion and has captured both the Intercontinental and United States championships in his WWE career.

He has done it all.

Some might say Mysterio has had the greatest career for a masked wrestler ever.

5. Kane

21 of 25

There's a lot to say about Kane's career, but I'll keep it short.

Kane has done some great things in and for WWE.

He has feuded with the Undertaker in some of the most memorable matches the WWE has ever had.

He has held the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship.

Kane has been on the top consistently for so many years and it would be wrong not to put him in the top five of this list.

Kane is one of the best ever. Oh, and that statement about Rey Mysterio being the greatest masked wrestler, Kane could give him a run for his money.

4. Christian

22 of 25

Christian deserves this spot.

Here's his career:

- Two-time World Heavyweight Champion

- Two-time ECW Champion

- Nine-time WWE Tag Team Champion

- European Champion

- Three-time Intercontinental Champion

- Hardcore Champion

- Light Heavyweight Champion

If that isn't an impressive career, then I don't know what is.

3. Randy Orton

23 of 25

The top three should be obvious to a lot of people.

So here's one of two super-faces in WWE, Randy Orton.

A lot of people may be tired of seeing him at the top, but since he has been at the top for so long and so many times, it's only right to put him in the top three.

He kicked off his career with Evolution and worked his way up to the top by winning the World Heavyweight Championship. Orton then broke apart from them the night after.

Randy Orton is a six-time WWE Champion and two-time World Heavyweight Champion.

His career has been great. Just not better than the next two guys.

2. John Cena

24 of 25

I couldn't make up my mind where to put John Cena.

Eventually, I left it to the stats.

John Cena is a nine-time WWE champion and two-time World Heavyweight Champion.

He has won the Royal Rumble and has been the face of WWE for the past few years.

His career is unmatched by anyone that is wrestling right now.

WWE has decided to make him the biggest star they have ever had and there's no denying that John Cena will eventually have the most title reigns in WWE history.

1. Triple H

25 of 25

Triple H's return allowed me to put him in this spot.

He is an eight-time WWE Champion and a five-time World Heavyweight Champion.

Triple H could still wrestle if he wanted to and I expect him to return for a few matches.

What separates him from John Cena is the era that he came up in.

He fought guys like the Rock and Stone Cold while John Cena hasn't. And he has all those title reigns when WWE had so much star power. Cena hasn't.

I'm not knocking John Cena but I just want it clear why he isn't number one.
