A Cute Little Pre-Weekend RFB Post

For those rightfully wondering, Right Field Bleachers is in fact still an active Brewers fan site - with writers even! To prove it, here’s a post.
News:
- The recently re-upped Mike Cameron is drawing some interest from the Yankees: The popular speculation on a package is Melky Cabrera and Ian Kennedy. It seems like that’s something the Yankees wouldn’t want to do, and – with the return – too much of a gamble for Milwaukee, aside from obtaining two once promising players with the chance of taking old form… and the huge amount of money saved in selling off Cameron. Melvin said he’s listening to offers, but my guess is Cameron will be a Brewer on opening day.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
- The Washington Nationals apparently have some real interest in trying to bring Prince Fielder to town: I think A lot of teams do, but most of them don’t have tightwads like Jim Bowden in their front office. Plus, other teams have legitimate prospects, and MLB-ready first base replacement who aren’t the Ben Sheets of their position (Nick Johnson) or the fat Prince Fielder (Dimitri Young). Apart from the kind of funny though of having Elijah Dukes in Milwaukee, I think/hope to any semblance of God has little possibility of happening.
- Is Bill Castro the next Brewers pitching coach? I hope so. He’s waited a long time for the gig.
- Doesn’t it always seem that just when you begin to fall in love, she leaves you for a new network?
- THT lists Eric Gagne as one of the worst free agent signings of 2008.
- In better list news, J.J. Hardy and Jason Kendall were both rated the second best defensive players of their position in the 2008 Fielding Bible Awards.
- To Jim Breen from Bernie’s Crew, in my “choppy” Trade Post of Jeff Cirillo, Paul Bako was eventually traded for Ryan Howard Gripp – useless minor leaguer, not Ryan Howard – weird-nostriled Subway Pitchman/former MVP: No hard feelings about ripping half of what we write apart, it’s just a heads up so your readers don’t get the wrong idea.
- With the new leader of our country decided, it is time to address the equally important issue of who will be part of Milwaukee’s 2009 rotation: My vote is for Dave Bush to have one of these spots (preferably near the back).
- Nominate Right Field Bleachers for the 2008 Weblog Awards: We do what we do for the love of it, but being cited for it always makes posting about baseball even sweeter. I think you can vote unlimited times and we’d sure appreciate it.
Old News… Olds?:
- To quote Fonz, Joe Dillon: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAyyyyy’s.
- We all know the Brewers made a monumental (for the franchise) offer to CC Sabathia. And we’ve all heard the Yankees and Angels will push hard for him come Nov. 14, but here’s all that imminently known or speculated upon: Sabathia has filed for free agency and has been given type-A status (top 50 draft pick if signed elsewhere). The Yankees are poised to throw an assload of dough his way, but Sabathia has reportedly told friends he doesn’t want to play in New York. Meanwhile, the Angels plan to try to sign both Sabathia and Mark Teixeira, but have said Tex is the team’s top priority.
- Ned Yost has reportedly hinted that his great, great grandson’s great great grandson’s son will compete it the Space Olympics of 3022. A warning to Ned Yost the 80th, keep your ass out the mini bar!
