WWE Día Del Rey (Day 7): Mysterio and John Morrison Lose to Miz and R-Truth
Big Nasty will be keeping a running diary of a major developing storyline involving legendary Luchador Rey Mysterio Jr. Mysterio's contract is set to expire in early 2012, and WWE is reportedly looking to place major emphasis on the tenured superstar leading up to SummerSlam.
Rey Mysterio had a RAW last week that was allegorical to a typical Mysterio match. He had his ups, his downs and some twists and turns in between.
Mysterio started off the night by defeating the Miz for the WWE Championship before having his run cut short in what was one of the shortest WWE Championship reigns in history for one of the shortest WWE Champions in history.

Mysterio will have two weeks to seek a program, likely with a top heel on RAW, leading up to SummerSlam, where the Hispanic-influenced Los Angeles crowd should be nice and hot for the legendary Luchador.
Mysterio was not featured on WWE's recent tour of Illinois, so there is little to no indication as to who he will be working with leading to WWE SummerSlam.
INDIANAPOLIS, In.—August 1. After years of commercials, Rey Mysterio and John Morrison get set to take on what could be an entertaining duo of the Miz and R-Truth.
We first see Mysterio backstage as his shirt is suddenly swiped. The culprit is quickly revealed to be a twinkle-toed John Morrison as he playfully parkours his way back into the camera shot to return Mysterio's shirt.
Following his WWE Championship loss, it seems Rey is taking an immediate step down to be booked in a tag team match during the middle of the show, however it's worth noting that Miz and R-Truth were recently in the mix for the WWE Championship, and Morrison is competing in a much-anticipated first match since injury.
It's a good thing this match isn't a promo off. Poor Rey would have to carry his duo and that sink would ship with the quickness.
Morrison and Miz, fresh off his "don't forget about Miz" brownie points tour of the mainstream media to counter CM Punk's recent push, started things off with a pancake slam on Morrison, followed by a shot to R-Truth. Miz quickly turned the tables on Morrison before Morrison countered him with a leg sweep.
Mysterio was tagged in as the pace quickened. Mysterio sent both Miz and R-Truth to the floor, followed by Morrison, who connected with a spinning dive to the outside.
Following RAW's historic 50th commercial break, R-Truth and Miz were the legal men in the ring, but Miz quickly tagged in to impose his will. A running kick to the head of Rey drew only a nearfall. Miz continued to keep Mysterio away from his corner with a thunderous DDT, followed by a tag in of R-Truth.
Truth returned a quick tag after working over Rey as heat continued to build on Mysterio. A high-risk attempt by the Miz was cut off by Mysterio before he made a hot tag to Morrison. Morrison came out like a house afire, but a Starship Pain was thwarted with help from Miz.
After Miz was subdued by Mysterio with a dive to the outside, Miz cut off a Mysterio 619 attempt. Truth followed up with his Paydirt-like finisher on Morrison (shades of the Morrison diary) and scored the victory for his team. Truth blasted Morrison with a water bottle shot as he and Miz celebrated their victory.
WWE will be in an interesting holding pattern with top priority guys like Rey and Miz leading up to SummerSlam. It appears as if a match between the two at the high-profile summer event may be in order.
