Week 9 Mountain West Football Power Rankings

1.#10 (8-0) The Utes had a bye last week and now have a potential trap game at New Mexico.

2. #14 (8-1) TCU backed their win over BYU with a dominant win over Wyoming to keep pace with Utah for a potential BCS bid.

3.#21 (7-1) BYU looks shaky on defense, again.  This team could fall again to Air Force or Utah if the defense does not get its act together.

4. (6-2) Falcons became bowl eligible last week in Troy Calhoun’s second year as Air Force’s head coach.

5. (4-4) Colorado State rebounded to defeat San Diego State to stay in the chase for their first bowl bid since 2005.

6.  (4-5)Tough loss against Air Force, but this New Mexico team has a chance to play spoiler against Utah this Saturday.

7 (3-5) The Rebels played toe to toe with BYU this past weekend, but they do not have the defense to take the next step in this league.

8 (1-7) The Aztecs move up because they scored points by getting 34 last week.

9.(2-6) 8.8 points per game is what Wyoming is scoring.
