MLB Trade Rumors: Michael Cuddyer to Diamondbacks Would Be Huge Addition
The trade deadline is slowly growing near and the Arizona Diamondbacks are right in the thick of the National League West, trailing only the San Francisco Giants.
While they are having a fabulous season, and clearly buyers come July 31, there are some holes that need to be addressed in left field, first base, and the bullpen. Recent call-ups Yhency Brazoban and Alberto Castillo are current hopefuls to improve the bullpen and keep them stable for the time being.
As for left field and first base, a name general manager Kevin Towers should consider to deal for is Michael Cuddyer.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The Minnesota Twins are not having the season they intended, and sit nine games back in the American League Central, when many thought they would definitely be contenders. With Cuddyer to become a free agent at the end of the season, the Twins and D-Backs would both thrive if a trade were to occur between them.
Minnesota would be looking to rid Cuddyer before his contract is up and look to attain some good, young prospects from Arizona. If Cuddyer doesn't pan out for the snakes, then you can just let him go at the end of the year.
Many are saying that Cuddyer is worth a top prospect, and I think the D-Backs should really consider him. He can play all of the outfield spots and first base, and his hitting is what Arizona really needs to acquire.
Cuddyer is having a great season (.290 BA, 10 HR, 30 RBI) and would flourish batting around Justin Upton and Chris Young. He would also be a great veteran to have around in the clubhouse. He isn't the greatest of fielders, but definitely a utility player that any team should be happy to have, able to play almost every position.
I know the Philadelphia Phillies are looking at Cuddyer as well, but I really think Arizona needs to make an offer sooner rather than later and add this veteran masher.
So, I will leave you with a question, hoping to see some comments from viewers.
Should the Diamondbacks give up a top prospect to acquire Michael Cuddyer?
