Tennis: Seven Reasons to be a Fan

Not a tennis fan? Here are seven reasons why one should be...

1. Scenic Attraction: For people who are interested in sight seeing, or green pastures, (and good looking guys and gals), there is no better place than at tennis matches! One gets to see breathtaking scenery, and moreover, the ulterior motive can be hidden by the diversion known as a 'match!'

2. Fashion Tips: Budding fashion designers and hairstylists can take a leaf out of the players' book and learn a thing or two. The longer the game, the more knowledge gained! Also —and this one is mainly for the female crowd—if there is a problem maintaining the hairdo while working, see the women's game and part of the problem will be solved.

3. Tongue Twisters: If one has a fetish for tongue twisters, try memorizing the players' names and rattling them off. No offense meant, but some of the players' names do sound like tongue twisters. For starters, here's one: UPPER ROLLER LOWER ROLLER.

4. Temper Tantrums: If one wishes to learn how to throw temper tantrums and give invectives—not only in English but in foreign dialects as well—tennis matches will be a helpful tutor.

5. Silence Is Golden: As an antithesis of the above, tennis matches also serve as a beginner's guide to yoga and anger management.

(Of course these two are optional choices, one can't choose both!)

6. Tour De Le Monde: For those who have always wished of touring the world and are unable to do so, why worry? There is a stopgap arrangement. Watch the tennis tournaments. Certain tourneys give a whirlwind tour of important places. Watch it and plan your future world tour through experience.

7. Academics and Hobby: For people interested in genealogy and family trees, tennis will prove to be a great asset. It will serve a fair idea of the concept, even if not a literal one.
