Just because you’ve slipped behind in the Stolen Base category doesn’t mean you can’t catch up. Here are some reasonably available stolen base options.
Jemile Weeks, Oakland A’s: Weeks is hitting .298 over the past 15 days, with nine runs, four RBI and six stolen bases. On the year, he’s hitting .309 with 12 runs, six RBI and six stolen bases. He is owned in 24 percent of Yahoo! and 39.4 percent of ESPN leagues. Weeks gives you a speed boost at second base or middle infielder, which can free up your outfield slot for a slugger.
Jason Bartlett, San Diego Padres: Bartlett is hitting .224 over the past 15 days, with four runs, three RBI and five stolen bases. On the year, he’s hitting .249 with 28 runs, one home run, 21 RBI and 15 stolen bases. He is owned in around ten percent of fantasy leagues. Bartlett can help your speed at shortstop or middle infielder.
Chris Getz, Kansas City Royals: Getz is hitting .333 over the past 15 days with seven runs, two RBI and four stolen bases. On the year, he’s hitting .265 with 36 runs, 18 RBI and 12 stolen bases. He is owned in less than five percent of fantasy leagues. Like Weeks, he plays second base.
Corey Patterson, Toronto Blue Jays: Patterson is struggling, hitting .163 over the past 15 days, but he still managed three stolen bases. On the year, he’s hitting .263 with 39 runs, five home runs, 30 RBI and 12 stolen bases. He is owned in 26 percent of Yahoo! and 34.5 percent of ESPN leagues. Patterson is an outfielder.
Tony Gwynn Jr., Los Angeles Dodgers: Gwynn is hitting .333 over the past 15 days, with four runs, five RBI and three stolen bases. On the year, he’s hitting .250 with 16 runs, 11 RBI and eight stolen bases. He is available in virtually all fantasy leagues. He’s also an outfielder.
