TNA News: Jeff Hardy Makes Appearance for Latest Trial
This should be big news for both Hardy and his TNA future.
According to ProWrestling.net, the wrestling star arrived at a Moore County courthouse facing drug trafficking charges dating back almost two years ago.
This is one of the few times that Hardy has shown his face in court, as his case has been continued numerous times. Which could mean that Hardy and his attorney are ready to settle and face his punishment.
The hearing was scheduled for Monday, June 27, at 2 p.m. ET. Just as proceedings were about to get underway, the judge, Hardy's attorney and the Assistant District Attorney had a brief meeting. During that time, Hardy's attorney waved him out of the room and the judged ordered him to return in one hour to stand trial.
The meeting is believed to be the parties hashing out a settlement so Hardy will face lesser charges. As of this article, there has been no decision made. Apparently, both sides will return later in the week to finalize everything.
Hopefully, this will finally be laid to rest by week's end. As I am sure TNA is growing impatient along with Hardy's fans, as this verdict is a long time coming.
Hardy should not just get a slap on the wrist, as he has a serious problem and it needs to be dealt with. Unfortunately, he will probably have a fine and minimal jail time. Which will either lead to a release from TNA or more matches like this year's Victory Road.
