According to sources, the Flyers have made two huge trades that include two star players.
The Flyers have traded star Jeff Carter to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Jakub Voracek and this years first- and third-round picks.
Carter last year scored 36 goals and had 66 points for the Flyers. Carter has 181 goals and 343 points as a member of the Flyers. The draft picks in the trade could be huge for the Flyers, as it gives them a chance to get some young players in the system.

Carter is in his 11th year of a $58 million, 14-year contract. This trade is big because the Flyers are serious about signing Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov. The Flyers need to make cap space in order to sign the goaltender.
In a separate deal, it is being reported that the Flyers have traded Mike Richards the the L.A. Kings in exchange for Brayden Schenn, Wayne Simmonds and the second-round pick in this year's draft.
In six seasons with the Flyers, Richards has 133 goals and 349 points.
These two trades are obviously blockbuster deals, as the Flyers trade a star player in Carter and their captain Mike Richards in separate deals.
We will see what happens as more details come in.
