TNA IMPACT: 10 Questions That Still Remain Unanswered.
Eric Bischoff looked like a proud papa last week when Gunner pinned the world champion, Mr. Anderson.
The self-proclaimed "A**Hole" may have bitten off more than he could chew. His mouth is writing checks that his "you know what" may not be able to cash.
It also opens the door for more questions about the state of TNA IMPACT as it continues to produce better programming and a solid pay-per-view earlier in the month.
Bischoff, Hulk Hogan and Vince Russo are the brain trust of this change and with it comes the responsibility of answering the questions that will keep viewers and add new ones.
WWE is working on two three-hour RAW events and a pay-per-view that was above average but did not blow the roof off the arena.
Now is the chance for IMPACT to strike while they are pretty hot and popular.
Who Will Replace Mick Foley?
1 of 10Now that he is gone and the story line is that he was "fired", there is a need for someone to be the go-bewteen besides Sting.
There are several names I could think of, but all are involved in other organizations. The one name that comes to mind and several fans have spoken about is Paul Heyman.
Heyman paid his dues and worked hard to make ECW a name brand that was cool and hip and exciting. He made hardcore wrestling mainstream.
Since many of the ECW alums are part of TNA, it would make sense to see Heyman at the reins of TNA.
Can Gunner Win the World Championship?
2 of 10Yes he can. Gunner is going to a world champion. His wins over the last two weeks and his constant solid showing means he is part of the future of this company.
Gunner has a snap to his work, a dedication to his craft. And when he wrestles the likes of Sting and Mr. Anderson, he looks every bit their equal as anyone else in the ring.
Gunner will also have the support of Immortal behind him, which helps his cause.
Can Hogan and Bischoff Coexist?
3 of 10Right now, yes? Later on, not so sure.
Hogan seems to want to get away from the crap that flows from Bischoff's mouth. Bischoff looks like he is doing the same things he did in WCW.
This is like oil and vinegar.
If Hogan wants to do what is best for the company, then he should heed Sting's advice, and show his true colors.
What Happened to the Former Champions and the Big Names?
4 of 10RVD, AJ Styles, Jeff Jarrett, Sting. They all have held the title and are now looking for an island to stand on.
RVD is battling in the Bound for Glory Tournament. So is Styles, who is battling Bully Ray, another participant.
Jarrett is in Mexico and Sting is battling for the company. None right now are in the title picture. Sting gets his chance on July 14th - but it remains to be seen who he will face.
All four men are older veterans who are making an impact, just not in the title picture.
Will There Be Another Impact Star to Join the Fray?
5 of 10Well, CM Punk will be a free agent, but I don't see him jumping into the IMPACT Zone.
I do like Zack Ryder maybe coming over to IMPACT or maybe another guy from FCW.
Mason Ryan would have been perfect for the slot.
Does the "Joker" Image of Sting Mean He Is Going to Be a Little More Hardcore?
6 of 10I sure hope so.
Sting needs to be a little more assertive now that he does not have a title. He also needs to take the role of leader of the band so to speak.
The "Joker" story line is better than "The Crow". And he is more vocal - which I like very much.
Sting will get another title shot, but honestly, he needs to focus on the company instead.
What Happens to Fortune?
7 of 10I am not sure about this one.
AJ Styles is working in a story line with Bully Ray, but it appears to be one-on-one and nothing more.
Bobby Roode is injured. James Storm fought with Alex Shelley at Slammiversary and Daniels hasn't been effective since suffering a concussion.
This does not bode well for the four men who were about to take IMPACT over.
What Will Happen to Crimson and Matt Morgan?
8 of 10Crimson will rise to the top and will show his muster soon.
Matt Morgan needs to win the Bound For Glory tournament.
Both have bright futures with the company if they are written for properly.
Will the Knockouts Remain Vital to the Success of the Company?
9 of 10God, I hope so.
The women have been the connector to success the last month. Velvet Sky, ODB, Angelina Love. They form a core with Mickie James, Winter, etc. that cannot be beaten right now.
If they have more talent like Jackie and Miss Tessmacher jump into title contention, it will be fun to see how the writers make everyone happy.
Will the X-Division Continue to Get a Boost?
10 of 10It looks like it.
Austin Aries was added to the crew this past week. And with Kazarian looking to find a place and Brian Kendrick wanting to be an integral part of the brand, it looks like there will be more cruiserweights added to the mix each week with a contract on the line.
For once, the writers got this one correct.
