2011 NBA Draft Results: Jan Vesely Goes No. 6 to Washington Wizards
A 6’11” small forward from the Czech Republic, Jan Vesely definitely has the size necessary to be successful in the NBA. Because of that, combined with his high skill level, Vesely is essentially bursting at the seams with potential.
Right now though, that potential is unfulfilled. He needs to add a significant amount of strength in order to bang around with the other guys in the NBA, especially because he doesn’t possess the quickness to just blow by defenders.
With a great jump shot and tremendous athleticism for such a tall young man, Vesely is going to put up quite a few highlight reel plays whenever he steps onto the court. Now he just needs to add some consistency to his game.
Continuing the international dominance of this draft, Vesely is going to go to Washington and make a huge impact in my opinion.
The Wizards need players everywhere but at point guard and the fiery Vesely should be able to get consistent playing time at forward right from the get-go.
I really like this pick.
