WWE Capitol Punishment: Why John Cena Will Rip R-Truth in the WWE Title Match

Giulio RomanoJun 10, 2011

We are less than one week away boys and girls.

So close to WWE's latest event known as "Capitol Punishment" set in Washington, DC.

Your main event for the evening: John Cena defends his coveted WWE championship against the number one contender, R-Truth.

Really? Really!?

I don't know about you but this is the most uninteresting championship match I've heard of since Jerry Lawler and The Miz a few months ago.

Do we really care about R-Truth and his "chances" in this match? Not a whole lot.

I am not a John Cena fan but booking an encounter like this makes me understand why WWE shares have taken a serious hit.

Don't get me wrong, Truth's character has been fare more interesting in the last month than he's been in his entire career. He is 39 years old for heaven's sake so for him it is make or break time.

As we all unfortunately know, part of the problem here is the way the champion is booked.

He virtually IS Superman in disguise. They make him look like an invincible man who can take over 25 minutes of pure punishment by two other superstars and all of a sudden appear to have regained full power.

It is almost unbearable yet the creative writers keep shoving it down our throats thinking we accept this.

Keep going that way guys. Next thing you know, shares will be five dollars each and I'll end up buying 1000 of them.

I may rule WWE yet!

The two adversaries could surprise us still and give us a decent match. I think R-Truth is quite athletic. His character makes me laugh because he is completely nuts but honestly, I cannot even imagine he is going to come out of this one with the belt.

John Cena will run him through. Of course he'll take a few bumps here and there but remember, our solar system has a yellow sun and that gives Superman all his powers.

The last thing the WWE title needs is another transitional champion. The fact Cena holds the belt does not help but at least if he wins, we can still hope a better "heel" like CM Punk or Alberto Del Rio can be in line and actually have a decent chance.

If the rumors are true, those last two are to battle "The Champ" in the next few months so don't go betting on Truth too quickly.

Their match next Sunday will certainly not close the show. I believe we will have two gems that night. Alex Riley seeks to supplant his former master, The Miz and Christian will attempt to wrest the World Heavyweight championship from "The Viper" Randy Orton.

These rivalries have been far more impressive and need to be closing the show.

John Cena vs. R-Truth should be the third to last match right before Miz-Riley.

Something should be set-up so we can immediately jump start the next rivalry for the championship.

John Morrison is also expected to return soon. He will be R-Truth's undoing. They haven't settled their issues yet.

Will the "Shaman of Sexy" be ready by Sunday? Is he really going to interfere?

I want John Cena to retain the championship next week. If he truly is more battered than expected as the rumor goes then I want him to drop the title to someone I actually like, not R-Truth.

He might need to take a break because something far greater is on the way: the epic encounter with The Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII.

It will be the match of SuperCena's career. Being 100% should be his top priority.

Did I leave anything out?
