John Cena: Love Him Or Hate Him?

Joe Burgett Oct 24, 2008

Many WWE fans out there are waiting on the return of John Cena, but there are a few who would rather see him out of the WWE totally, which is their opinion. That is why I am writing this article.

I remember first seeing John Cena on SmackDown in his debut. He came out and said he had ruthless aggression for Kurt Angle. In an open competition, he did for a while. And from then on, he was put into WWE spotlight.

He had a gimmick as a rapper from Boston that would take on any rap battle that came along, which made him really good on the mic in turn. We all know Cena now in his Marine gimmick, which he did when The Marine came out in theaters.

I personally liked his rapper gimmick. He made the WWE Title a spinner as well as the US title one. It was destroyed, however, and was put back as it is currently. However, the spinner still is on the WWE Title on SmackDown.

But his gimmicks made people love him and hate him. He would go to one place and get cheered and go somewhere else and get booed; it's all in a days work for Cena. I remember the time he got booed the most he ever had.

It was when ECW was introduced to the WWE. He was in a match with Rob Van Dam, and from the moment his music hit to the end of the match, he was loudly booed. It was tough to hear the announcers even.

I personally like John Cena. By no means is he the best wrestler ever, but he is one of the best entertainers. The "you can't see Me" thing he does is so popular that you see people doing it everywhere.

Some don't even know why they do it; they just do because everyone else is. Cena made WWE popular even more than it already was. It wasn't because anything changed in the WWE. It was because they just wanted to see John Cena.

So, in turn, he became more popular. He has been in movies, TV shows, and award shows, and never could do it without his fans, which he says time after time. He even entertains the people that hate him, which not many can do.

He hears a boo and calls the person or group out and tells them to boo louder if they are going to boo. He does well in the US with fans, but not as much overseas. It could be his Marine gimmick.

Let's face it, not many people around the world like the US Armed Forces. And that is okay to him because he doesn't care. He just goes out to entertain you.

He has accomplished a lot while in the WWE. He is a former United States, Tag Team, and WWE Champion, which not everyone can say they have done with the exception of wrestling legends.

He may become a legend one day, who knows? From the moment his music hits to the end of the match he is in, whether he gets cheered or booed, he gives the same effort to entertain the fans.

Love him or hate Him, you still have to respect him for that.
